(7 p.m.). (“Santificar las fiestas” - III Mandamiento).

Vivat Jesus! (K. of C.)
The Saint John Paul II Council of the Knights of Columbus (K. of C. #16046) will meet this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the first floor boardroom of the school building. Any practicing Catholic man 18 years or older who wishes to learn more about the world’s largest Catholic brotherhood may visit www.kofc.org or talk to Fr. Rojas or any of the Knights (most of our 9 a.m. ushers are Knights!).
Saint Joseph’s Neighborhood Association
Another opportunity for you to help our parish make a difference in our community is available on Wednesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. in the first floor classroom of our school building at 10 Saint Joseph’s Avenue. There is always room for your good will and cooperation to make our neighborhood a better place!
MOTHER’S DAY,
MAY 10
We invite all the mothers of our parish (and grand-mothers, godmothers, stepmothers) to Mass at 9 a.m. next Sunday so that they may receive a special blessing. After the 11 a.m. Mass next Sunday, all of our mothers and their families are welcome to a hot, fresh, and tasty lunch in the auditorium, thanks to our Dominican sodality! However, there will be no Holy Hour or Soup Kitchen on May 10.
“Religious views...have to be changed”
about abortion
Earlier this month, this sentiment was expressed by a former Secretary of State and United States Senator who has declared her candidacy for President of the United States. (Christian Post, April 25, 2012, http://www.christianpost.com/news/hillary-clinton-religious-beliefs-have-to-be-changed-about-abortion-138179/) Really? Would she have in mind the historic, consistent opposition of the Catholic Church and other theis-tic, pro-life Americans to abortion? Is the force of government to be used to change these views? It is very important, per-haps now more than ever, for Catholic American voters and others of good will to vote in an informed fashion!
Collection for the Church of Central & Eastern Europe
The second collection of today will be dedicated to helping the still-recovering Churches of central and eastern Europe. In light of the conflict in Ukraine and the difficulties faced by our Eastern Catholic brethren in the Crimea, along with challenges facing Roman and Eastern Catholics in central and eastern Europe, your generosity today would be most timely!
