‘Speakers are not produced overnight, but they are made with knowledge, determination and a hard-to-find alloy called guts!’

Literary activities like debates help children enhance academic research, creativity, expression and communication skills. A debate makes students learn the nuances of debating, putting forth their viewpoints confidently and gain unparallel knowledge.

An Inter-house English Debate Competition was held at Indore Public School on August 10, 2019 for classes IX to XII. The topic of the debate was ‘Cricket is killing the other sports in India.’

Debaters from all the four houses— Gandhi, Raman, Subhash and Tagore debated excellently in favour and against the motion. The audience applauded for each one of them as they kept forth their arguments with great confidence and aplomb. The contestants were judged on oratory and persuasion skills, content, expression and fluency by Dr. Shaloo Manocha and Ms. Jyoti Jaiswal, senior faculties of English and Communication Department, at IPS Academy. It was an erudite experience for the participants as well as the audience. Two best speakers were selected in each category.
