About Indonesia Day Indonesia Day is an annual event that aims to celebrate, commemorate, and introduce the diversity and heritage of the Indonesian culture through the showcase of Indonesian art, dance, music and food. The main purpose of the event is the following:

1. To promote diversity and awareness through the exposure of Indonesian culture to the San Francisco Bay Area.

2. To showcase the history and contributions of the local Indonesian people. 3. To provide a safe and fun environment while promoting local trade and

services to the community. The venue will be located at Union Square in San Francisco, CA with this year’s theme being called “Bamboo of the Archipelago”. The Indonesia Day Committee 2012 will be mainly run by the San Francisco Indonesian Student Organization in the United States known as PERMIAS. Currently the Indonesia Day Committee 2012 is partnered with:

1. Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia; 2. Gamelan Sekar Jaya (GSJ).

Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in San Francisco is the representative of Indonesian Government to Northern California, State of Idaho, State of Oregon, State of Washington, and State of Alaska. The Consulate General office has been consistent to support Indonesia Day throughout these years. GSJ, founded in 1979, is a company of musicians and dancers based in the San Francisco Bay Area specializing in Balinese music and dance. Internationally acclaimed, GSJ has performed throughout California, the US, Canada, Mexico, and Indonesia. GSJ is the only group outside of Indonesia to ever receive the Dharma Kusuma, Bali’s highest award for artistic achievement.

Benefits of Sponsorship Sponsors can connect easier with their target audience or expand their customer base to include the Indonesia, Asian/Pacific American community as well as the greater San Francisco Bay Area public. By participating as a sponsor, your company will gain the following:

1. Your company name and brand will get noticed through our widely distributed Indonesia publication and by the large number and varied attendees at the event. Because the community event is free and located at the most centrally located place in San Francisco, Union Square it draws over 10,000 attendees and is often mentioned by varied media sources. (television, internet, youtube, facebook, twitter, blogs, etc)

2. The Indonesia Day 2012 event also provides a great and unique opportunity

for sponsors to publicly display their company’s achievements, position their company’s involvement with the local community, highlight their support for diversity, and/or feature their positive outlook on corporate social responsibilities. Not only does this help publicize your company but also gets viewed by many governmental and community leaders since they are expected to be in attendance at the event.

3. Participating sponsors may also be entitled to favorable tax deductions. Gamelan Sekar Jaya, a 501 (c)(3) - non-profit organization, is acting as Fiscal Sponsor for Indonesia Day 2012. Gamelan Sekar Jaya has been committed and dedicated to promote traditional Balinese Gamelan in California for more than 30 years. For further information, please see www.irs.gov, www.gsj.org, or consult with a professional tax accountant.
