LOS FIX FREQUENCY PROGRAMMING 1. Set the radio the following: a. COMSEC to PT b. MODE to SC c. FUNCTION SWITCH to LD d. CHANNEL to be programmed. (0-7) 2. Press FREQ 3. Press CLR 4. Enter the 5 digit frequency 5. Press STO 6. Select the next channel and repeat steps 2-5. 7. Place FUNCTION SWITCH to SQ ON.

LOADING COMSEC VARIABLE WITH ANCD

1. Set the radio the following: a. COMSEC to CT b. MODE to SC c. FUNCTION SWITCH to LD 2. Connect FILL Device to the Audio/Fill Port (J2) of the radio. 3. Turn on ANCD 4. Select APPL, press ENT 5. Select RADIO, press ENT 6. Select COMSEC, press ENT 7. Select LD, press ENT 8. Select TEK, press ENT 9. SELECT KEY is highlighted. P DN until the correct key is displayed. Press ENT, XMT

appears in the bottom right corner 10. Select QUIT, press ENT 11. Connect ANCD to radio, press ENT on ANCD. 12. ANCD displays Sending TEK xxxx followed by Press [LOAD] on RT 13. When the FILL Device instructs, press the LOAD button on the radio. 14. Press STO 15. Press the desired position (1-6) 16. Select another key on the FILL Device and repeat steps 4-6. 17. Turn off and disconnect Fill Device from the radio. 18. Place FUNCTION SWITCH to SQ ON.

LOADING COMSEC VARIABLE WITH SKL

1. Set the radio the following: a. COMSEC to CT b. MODE to SC c. FUNCTION SWITCH to LD 2. Connect FILL Device to the Audio/Fill Port (J2) of the radio. 3. On the SKL, select the Keys tab. 4. Select a key then the Load icon in the upper right. 5. Use DS-102 protocol, KYK13 activation mode, click OK. 6. At Ready to Send Key screen, click OK. 7. The Status screen will display Press INITIATE Button. 8. When the FILL Device instructs, press the LOAD button on the radio. 9. Press STO 10. Press the desired position (1-6) 11. Select another key on the FILL Device and repeat steps 4-6. 12. Turn off and disconnect Fill Device from the radio. 13. Place FUNCTION SWITCH to SQ ON.

LOADING SINCGARS FH LOADSET WITH A CYZ-10 1. Set the radio the following: a. COMSEC to CT b. MODE to FH

c. FUNCTION SWITCH to LD 2. Connect FILL Device to the Audio/Fill Port (J2) of the radio. 3. On CYZ-10, load Radio application. 4. On CYZ-10, select Send. Press ENT. 5. On CYZ-10, select Send to: Radio. Press ENT. 6. On CYZ-10, select iCom. Press ENT. 7. On CYZ-10, follow on-screen steps until asked whether to include time. 8. On CYZ-10, select Include Time – Y/N as required. Press ENT 9. CYZ-10 will display Press LOAD on RT. 10. On the Radio, press the LOAD button. 11. The process will take approximately 1 minute. 12. CYZ-10 will display ICOM TRANSFER SUCCESSFUL when complete. 13. Turn off and disconnect Fill Device from the radio. 14. Place FUNCTION SWITCH to SQ ON.

LOADING SINCGARS FH LOADSET WITH AN SKL

1. Set the radio the following: a. COMSEC to CT b. MODE to FH

c. FUNCTION SWITCH to LD 2. Connect FILL Device to the Audio/Fill Port (J2) of the radio. 3. On SKL, select Eqs Tab. 4. On SKL, select RT-1523. 5. On SKL, select the LOAD icon in the upper right. 6. On SKL, select ICOM Transfer & check Include Time if needed. Click OK. 7. On SKL, at the Connect To screen, select Next>> 8. On SKL, at the Profiles screen, select Send. SKL displays Press LOAD Button. 9. On radio, press LOAD button. Observe progress on SKL. Transfer takes about 20 seconds.

CHANGE NET ID 1. Set the radio the following: a. COMSEC to CT b. MODE to FH

c. FUNCTION SWITCH to LD d. CHANNEL to be programmed. (1-6)

2. Press FREQ 3. Press CLR 4. Enter the 3 digit Net ID 5. Press STO 6. Select the next channel and repeat steps 2-5. 7. Place FUNCTION SWITCH to SQ ON.

MANUALLY ENTER TIME 1. Set the radio the following: a. COMSEC to CT b. MODE to FH

c. FUNCTION SWITCH to LD 2. Press TIME 3. Press CLR 4. Enter the 2 digit Julian Date 5. Press STO 6. Press TIME 7. Press CLR 8. Enter the Hour and minute. (Set the minute ahead of GPS time) 9. Press STO when time on radio matches GPS time. 10. Place FUNCTION SWITCH to SQ ON.

1. Press ALT/MODE at the same time 2. Select KEY FILL and press ENT 3. Select DS102, press ENT twice 4. Turn on ANCD 5. Select APPL, press ENT 6. Select RADIO, press ENT 7. On radio, select TEK 1, press the PTT BUTTON to load 15. The ANCD will read 1 KEYS TRANSFERRED 16. Radio displays TRANSFER SUCCESSFUL, TEK01 will change to TEK02. 17. Select another key and load TEK02 or press ESC.

LOADING COMSEC VARIABLE WITH AN SKL

1. Press ALT/MODE at the same time 2. Select KEY FILL and press ENT 3. Select DS102, press ENT twice 4. On the SKL, select the Keys tab. 5. Select a key then the Load icon in the upper right. 6. Use DS-102 protocol, KYK13 activation mode, click OK. 7. At Ready to Send Key screen, click OK. 8. On the Status screen when it states to Press INITIATE Button, press the PTT Button. 9. The SKL will state Operation Successful if there were no problems. 10. On radio, select TEK 1, press the PTT BUTTON to load 11. The SKL will read 1 KEYS TRANSFERRED 12. Radio displays TRANSFER SUCCESSFUL, TEK01 will change to TEK02. 13. Select another key and load TEK02 or press ESC.

LOS FIX FREQUENCY PROGRAMMING

1. Press ALT/MODE at the same time 2. Select PROGRAM and press ENT 3. Select CHANNEL and press ENT 4. Select the Channel (001 - 256) 5. Select PLAIN or SECURE 6. Name the Channel (7 digits max) 7. Skip Power, set it last. 8. Select the Mode (BASIC) 9. Set the RX frequency. TX matches the RX automatically. 10. If below 90 MHz set Squelch to 150. (e.g. R=150.0 T=150.0). Above 90 MHZ leave

Squelch at 0. 11. Set Modulation (FM, AM, NB, etc) 12. Set the Data Rate if needed. 13. Select the COMSEC position. (TEK01) 14. RPTR, FADE, PHASE, & SQLCH set as needed. (Default is normal) 15. Press ESC to select the next channel or ESC out of programming.

LOADING SINCGARS FH LOADSET WITH A CYZ-10

1. Press ALT/MODE at same time 2. Select KEY FILL by pressing up button once then press ENT 3. Select MODE23 then press ENT 4. CONNECT MODE23 DEVICE will appear 5. Turn on ANCD 6. Select APPL, press ENT 7. Select RADIO, press ENT 8. Select SEND, press ENT 9. SEND TO: select RADIO, press ENT 10. SELECT: select ICOM, press ENT 11. CONNECT TO RT AUD/FILL CONNECTOR appears. 12. Press down arrow key to continue to next page 13. DO YOU WANT TO INCLUDE TIME? Select Y/N as required and press ENT 14. Press PTT button on radio, loading appears. Wait until finished 15. ANCD displays TRANSFER SUCCESSFUL, disconnect ANCD.

LOADING SINCGARS FH LOADSET WITH A SKL

MODE 2/3 will not load COMSEC with the LOADSET using an SKL! 1. Press ALT/MODE at same time 2. Select KEY FILL by pressing up button once then press ENT 3. Select MODE23 then press ENT. The radio displays CONNECT MODE23 DEVICE PTT TO LOAD 4. On SKL, select the Eqs Tab 5. Expand RT-1523 & select any location under RT-1523. (H1 for example) 6. Select File, Transmit, Load Selected Locations. 7. In the Load Selected Locations screen, select H0 to H6 (7 items), click OK. 8. Select ICOM Transfer, click OK; Next; then Send. 9. Press the PTT button when the SKL states Press LOAD Button. 10. SKL displays that it is sending 5 empty TEKs, 1 empty KEK, 6 Hopsets, & 8 empty Lockouts. When complete it states Re-load equipment? Select NO. 11. The radio will display LOADING… during step 10. After the SKL is finished, the radio displays INITIALIZING CRYPTO CHANNELS PLEASE WAIT, then returns to the KEYFILL menu. 12. The COMSEC keys will have to be loaded one at a time. Refer to LOADING COMSEC VARIABLE WITH AN SKL.

SINCGARS PROGRAMMING

1. Press ALT/MODE at the same time 2. Select PROGRAM and press ENT 3. Select CHANNEL and press ENT 4. Select the Channel (e.g. CH=001) 5. Select SECURE 6. Name the Channel (7 digits max) 7. Skip Power, set it last. 8. Select the Mode (SINCGARS) 9. Select the SINCGARS slot (1-6), CUE, or MAN. 10. Set ECCM to FH or SC. 11. FX=, enter a SC frequency if required. Ignore this is ECCM is set to FH. 12. SINCGARS is always FM, set the Data Rate if required. 13. Select the COMSEC position. (TEK01) 14. RPTR, FADE, PHASE, & SQLCH set as needed. (Default is normal) 15. Press ESC to select the next channel or ESC out of programming.

MANUALLY ENTER TIME

1. Press ALT/MODE at the same time 2. Select PROGRAM then press ENT 3. Select GLOBAL then press ENT 4. Select SET CLOCK then press ENT 5. Change the day to the correct Julian day. 6. Change the Hours to the correct ZULU hour 7. Change the Minutes to one minute ahead of ZULU time. 8. Press ENT when time on radio matches GPS time. 9. To view the clock press ESC 3 times, select STATUS, then CLOCK.

1. Turn radio on; rotate cipher switch to LD 2. Select FILL 3. Select VULOS for WAVEFORM FOR KEY 4. Select the correct FILL DEVICE (KYK-13). Radio displays PRESS ENT TO INITIATE

LOADING COMSEC VARIABLE WITH AN SKL

1. Turn radio on; rotate cipher switch to LD 2. Select FILL 3. Select VULOS for WAVEFORM FOR KEY 4. Select the correct FILL DEVICE (PYQ-10 [SKL DS-102]). Radio displays PRESS ENT TO INITIATE FILL 5. On SKL, select Keys Tab, select the correct key and select the LOAD icon in the upper right. 6. On SKL, select DS-102 for both Protocol: & Activate Mode: click OK. 7. At Ready to Send Key screen, click OK. 8. On the Status screen when it states to Press INITIATE Button; 9. Press ENT on radio 10. Select the CRYPTO MODE (VINSON, ANDVT, etc) 11. Select the KEY TYPE (TEK) and KEY NUMBER (01) 12. Select the CLASSIFICATION (SECRET) 13. LOAD ANOTHER KEY (NO/YES) 14. Disconnect fill device and rotate cipher switch to CT when done

1. Rotate cipher switch to LD 2. Select FILL 3. Select SINCGARS for WAVEFORM FOR KEY 4. Select CYZ-10 [MODE2/3] for FILL DEVICE. Radio displays INITIATE FILL AT FILL DEVICE. 5. On CYZ-10, load Radio application. 6. On CYZ-10, select Send. Press ENTR. 7. On CYZ-10, select Send to: Radio. Press ENTR. 8. On CYZ-10, select iCom. Press ENTR. 9. SINCGARS PROGRAMMING

1. Press PGM 2. Select SYSTEM PRESETS 3. Select SYSTEM PRESET CONFIG 4. Select a SYSTEM PRESET NUMBER (01 – 99) 5. Enter a PRESET DESCRIPTION 6. Select SINCGARS FOR PRESET WAVEFORM 7. Select FREQUENCY HOPPING for OPMODE. 8. Enter a name for PRESET NAME 9. Select a CRYPTO KEY 10. Select the TX POWER LEVEL 11. Select the TRAFFIC MODE (VOICE) 12. Select the HOPSET COMPARTMENT (01-25) 13. Enter a SC FREQUENCY (if needed) 14. Set SC SQUELCH TYPE to TONE 15. Press CLR then select SINCGARS CONFIG 16. Select MASTER/MEMBER to set the SINCGARS RADIO TYPE 17. Select CUE CONFIGURATION to set the CUE FREQUENCY, CUE SQUELCH TYPE, & ENABLE CUE NOTIFY 18. Select HOPSET/LOCKOUT then COPY HOPSET to change the NET ID. The Net ID can also be changed at the main operational screen by pressing the left or right arrow until the Net ID is highlighted. Change the 3-digit ID and press ENT.

MANUALLY ENTER TIME

1. From the main operational screen, select a SINCGARS Preset 2. Press OPT (#7) key 3. Select SINCGARS OPTIONS 4. Select SINCGARS GTOD 5. Select USER ENTRY 6. Press ENT to modify time 7. Enter the Julian Date and TIME. Change the Minutes to one minute ahead of ZULU time. 8. Press ENT when time on radio matches GPS time

CONFIGURATION PROGRAMMING

1. Press PGM 2. Select CONFIG then RADIO 3. Set the following items: TX POWER, SQUELCH, SQUELCH LEVEL, FM SQUELCH

TYPE, RADIO SILENCE, COUPLER, FM DEVIATION, CW OFFSET, RX NOISE BLANKING, COMPRESSION, EXT, 20W PA/COUPLER, & ERROR BEEPS

4. Press PGM to exit.

PROGRAMMING CHANNEL PRESETS

1. Press PGM 2. Select MODE, PRESET, CHANNEL 3. Enter Channel # (000 – 199) 4. Enter RX FREQUENCY 5. Enter TX FREQUENCY 6. Select MODULATION (USB, LSB, FM, AME, CW) 7. The rest can normally be left at default: AGC SPEED, IF BANDWIDTH, RX ONLY,

LIMIT MAX TRANSMIT POWER, ENABLE HAIL TX, & ENABLE SSB SCAN. 8. Enter next channel #, repeat steps 4-7. 9. Press CLR then PGM to exit

LOADING COMSEC INTO THE RADIO with ANCD

1. Place Function Switch to LD 2. Select FILL DEVICE (KYK-13, KYX-15, etc) 3. Select CRYPTO TYPE (ANDVT, VINSON, KG-84) 4. Select KEY TYPE (TEK, KEK) 5. Select KEY NUMBER (01-25) 6. Turn on ANCD 7. Select APPL, press ENT 8. Select RADIO, press ENT 9. Select COMSEC, press ENT 10. Select LD, press ENT 11. Select TEK, press ENT 12. SELECT KEY is highlighted. P DN until the correct key is displayed. Press ENT, XMT appears in the bottom right corner 13. Select QUIT, press ENT 14. Connect ANCD to radio, press ENT on ANCD. 15. ANCD displays Sending TEK xxxx followed by Press [LOAD] on RT 16. Press ENT to initiate Fill. 17. Answer LOAD ANOTHER KEY – YES or NO as desired. 18. When finished:

a. Turn off fill device and disconnect from radio. b. Rotate FUNCTION SWITCH to CT or TD position.

LOADING COMSEC INTO THE RADIO with SKL

1. Place Function Switch to LD 2. Select FILL DEVICE (KYK-13, KYX-15, etc) 3. Select CRYPTO TYPE (ANDVT, VINSON, KG-84) 4. Select KEY TYPE (TEK, KEK) 5. Select KEY NUMBER (01-25) 4. On the SKL, select the Keys tab. 5. Select a key then the Load icon in the upper right. 6. Use DS-102 protocol KYK13 activation mode, click OK. 7. At Ready to Send Key screen, click OK. 8. The Status screen will display Press INITIATE Button 9. Press ENT on the radio to initiate Fill. 10. Answer LOAD ANOTHER KEY – YES or NO as desired. 11. When finished:

a. Turn off fill device and disconnect from radio. b. Rotate FUNCTION SWITCH to CT or TD position.

ASSIGNING COMSEC TO MANUAL PRESET

1. Place Function Switch to CT 2. At operational screen, press Left Arrow key twice. ----- is highlighted. 2. Press Up or Down Arrow key until correct key is shown (ANDVT-HF). Press ENT 3. CHANGE COMSEC MODE? Select YES

LOADING SINCGARS FH LOADSET WITH A CYZ-10

1. Rotate function switch to LD position. 2. Select FILL DEVICE as CYZ-10 RDS. Press ENT. 3. Connect FILL Device to the ADF Port (J1) of the radio. 4. On CYZ-10, load Radio application. 5. On CYZ-10, select Send. Press ENTR. 6. On CYZ-10, select Send to: Radio. Press ENTR. 7. On CYZ-10, select iCom. Press ENTR. 8. On CYZ-10, follow on-screen steps until asked whether to include time. 9. On radio, press ENT to initiate the fill. Radio will display FILL IN PROGRESS. 10. On CYZ-10, select Include Time – Y/N as required. Press ENTR. 11. The Mode 2/3 fill process will now begin and will take approximately 1 minute. 12. Select MORE FILL DATA? – NO when complete or YES to load additional crypto 13. Turn off and disconnect Fill Device from the radio. 14. Change the function switch back to the PT, CT, or TD position.

LOADING SINCGARS FH LOADSET WITH AN SKL 1. Rotate function switch to LD position. 2. Select FILL DEVICE as CYZ-10 RDS. Press ENT. 3. Connect FILL Device to the ADF Port (J1) of the radio. 4. On SKL, select Eqs Tab. 5. On SKL, select RT-1523. 6. On SKL, select the LOAD icon in the upper right. 7. On SKL, select ICOM Transfer. Do Not check Include Time; it will fail! Click OK. 8. On SKL, at the Connect To screen, select Next>> 9. On radio, press LOAD button. 10. On SKL, at the Profiles screen, select Send. SKL displays Press LOAD Button. Observe progress on SKL. Transfer takes about 20 seconds. 11. Select MORE FILL DATA? – NO when complete or YES to load additional crypto 12. Turn off and disconnect Fill Device from the radio. Move SW from LD position to CT.
