Preschool News!
So many bears to sort and count as we learn beginning number sense and skills
Reaching for the Stars! We have separated our pre-kindergartners from our preschoolers during academic time in the mornings so that we can meet every child where they’re at and take them where they need to go academically. Our theme this month is winter. Language Arts: Pre-kindergarteners have learned about the letters B, T, N and next week they will be introduced to the letter S. -Preschoolers are continuing to learn about shapes and colors. Art: We are mixing primary colors to make secondary colors. Be on the lookout for some colorful artwork coming home. Math/Science: We are learning about patterns and sequences. Religion: Our Pre-kindergarteners are learning norms within the Catechesis atrium throughout the month of January.
A New Superintendent: The Archdiocese of Denver Hires a New Su
Our new superintendent starting in the 2018-2019 academic year in Elias Moo! He is currently serving as the principal at St. Rose of Lima. He will finish out his year there before taking on the superintendent role. Personally, I am very excited for Elias and for the Archdiocese of Denver. Mr. Moo is an alumnus of Notre Dame University. He first came to Denver as an ACE teacher and he has worked his way up within the system of the Archdiocese of Denver. Elias is a faith-filled educator who will bring a lot of innovative, educational leadership to our Archdiocese.

It’s time for those who have been impacted by St. Stephen or other Catholic schools to reconnect with the community that gave them so much, by giving back. With this recognition in mind, the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) is presenting the online giving campaign: Many Gifts, One Nation: A Day of Giving to Catholic Schools. This is a national day of philanthropy and camaraderie that invites supporters of Catholic Education to donate to their local and/or favorite Catholic School. So many alumnus, parents and grandparents have experienced the difference that a Catholic education can have on a child’s life. We hope that you will be able to pay it forward and help Catholic schools like St. Stephen to not only survive but to thrive for the next generation.
