Dalcroze
Audience Year 1 and 2 classes
Description
Dalcroze Eurythmics is a method of learning and experiencing musical concepts through movement, aural training and improvisation. In this programme, we will focus on introducing and developing key co-ordination skills, basic pitching singing, rhythm and listening work.
We will use simple and, in some cases, well-known songs to encourage accurate pitching and confident singing and movement work to experience the concepts of rhythm and pulse. The unique ‘whole body’ method of teaching these skills makes it not only different and exciting for the students to learn but is also extremely beneficial for anybody learning an instrument. This project would be ideal preparation for an Infant or Elfin instrumental tuition programme.
