Make health the heart of your homeThe Foreverbreathe™ high performance breathable wall system allows moisture vapour to travel through the wall while remaining airtight. This is a departure from traditional walls that trap in moisture, causing condensation, mould, structural decay, higher energy costs and health issues.

This is achieved through a clever combination of non-toxic, breathable materials that provide increased indoor air quality and energy savings without moisture entrapment.

weather protection paintSOLVENT-FREE

Foreverbreathe Weather Protection Paint is a solvent-free high-build wood stain with excellent hiding power made of vegetable oils and resins for a lasting finish which does not fill the wood grain. Foreverbreathe Weather Protection Paint is extremely weather and water-resistant. The paint is of lasting flexibility and does not tend to brittle. It is therefore very suitable for refurbishments. If properly applied it achieves very good UV-light protection. Silk gloss finish.

Surface Preparation: Suitable for wood. The surface must be dry and free of dust and grease.

Application: Can be used for the treatment of hard and softwoods on exterior surfaces, eg lathed walls, carports, garden furniture and log cabins. Drying time may increase and colour may change in cases of dense woods such as oak, chestnut or tropical woods. Try on sample area first. For the treatment of doors and windows we recommend Foreverbreathe Weather Protection Stain.

Only use if temperature is above 10°C. Stir well before use. Evenly brush on thin layer along the grain. The Weather Protection Paint comes ready for use. If necessary dilute with water.

Apply two coats for normal weather-proofing and 3 coats for weather-proofing of extremely exposed woods.

Restoration: Check old finish and remove all loose, flaking and brittle paint. Then treat as for new finish. Clean and slightly sand intact finishes. Then apply 1-2 coats depending on wear. For other, unknown coats try Weather Protection Paint on hidden area first.

Disposal of product: Do not empty into drains or onto soil. Completely dried product remnants can be disposed of in the normal way. Empty tins can be recycled.

Shelf life and Storage: Store in cool but frost-free conditions. Shelf life is minimum of 3 years if tin is kept firmly closed.

General advice: Provide good ventilation when processing. Drying oils can be ignited under certain circumstances themselves. Therefore, with this product contaminated rags crumple but not before disposal spread out to dry or soak in water.

Constituents: Binding agent: Polymer made from natural oils, fatty acids and resins.Solvent: waterPigments and fillers: earth and mineral pigmentsAdditives: vegetable-based emulsifier, lead and barium-free drying agent mix and stabilizers. Methyl cellulose. Film preservative jodpropinylbutylcarbamate(max.0,2% octylisothiazolon(<0,01%)

The VOC value for products of this category is d/Wb130g/l. This product contais < 1 g/l.

Coverage: 75-90 ml/sq metre depending on composition of surface and absorption properties of the wood.

Drying time: Dust-free after approx. 3-5 hrs at 20°C and average humidity. Recoatable after 1 day. Low temperatures and high humidity may increase drying time.

WHAT TO EXPECT:FOREVERBREATHE™ EXTERIOR DECKING AND CLADDING OIL

Foreverbreathe Exterior Oil finishes are made from plant chemistry. Our goal has always beento make products from the finest possible ingredients, to protect timber, while not exposing our customers to potentially harmful chemicals. Made from Tung Nut Oil, Tree Resin, Hard Plant Wax, Eucalyptus Oil and Micro Earthen Pigments, Foreverbreathe Exterior Oils feed your timber cladding as if it were still a tree.

Application and Maintenance:

Always ensure application of sufficient coats (usually 2) to fill the grain of the timber. Cloth back excess oil remaining on the surface, within a timeframe of 1 hour.Apply a further third coat 12-18 months after initial application. Thereafter the expected re-coat period is 3-5 years on North facing (high UV exposure) surfaces and 5-7 years on South facing (less exposed surfaces).Foreverbreathe Oxygen Cleaner is an effective treatment for removing mould/weathering from exposed timber. Simply add one scoop per litre of touch warm water, apply with a garden spray, wait 15 mins then scrub with a deck broom and running water.

Important to understand:

Initial imperfections and variances are often apparent with oil finishes. They are usually the result of differing absorption rates in timber and possible irregularities of application.

Most mainstream petro-chemical oils contain residual poisons to help prevent the development of mould spores. While they work with varying degrees of success, such poisons are dangerous to both the health of the person applying the oil and the immediate environment. Residual poisons are particularly harmful as they have been created to remain active over a prolonged period.By formulating our oils from breathable natural ingredients, every effort has been made to slow the occurrence of mould spores while keeping true to our belief in ‘Health Based Building’.

Please note:

All natural finishes are affected by the sun. Foreverbreathe Exterior Oil is available in a range of pigmented colours. These colours are micro pigments imported from Germany and conform to the highest European UV resistance standard. As a rule of thumb, the deeper the colour the greater the UV stability.

1

PROCEDURE TO FINISH EARTHEN WEATHERBOARD & DECKING PRODUCTS IN THE FORVERBREATHE EXTERIOR OIL, DARK COLOUR RANGE

(Three Coats. Manuka, Walnut, Liquorice)

Step one: Preparation: 12 - 25 degrees is the target temperature. The objective is to be able to coat the timber evenly without it “flashing off” or drying too rapidly. This may occur in direct sunlight on a hot sunny day. The surface must be dry, clean and free of grease. Timber moisture content should be no more than 16%. Foreverbreathe Microclean can be used to remove isolated embedded marks. Add 1 cap full of Microclean to 1 litre of water in a handy spray bottle. Shake well before use, mist spray the solution over the affected area and wipe off. Allow to thoroughly dry. If the surface has dust settled on it, then a light broom down should be sufficient.

Step Two: Apply Foreverbreathe “Enhancer” as a Primer, 1st Coat – Apply to all 4 sides Mix thoroughly by shaking or tipping the container to allow oil and the pigment mix ensure non separation. Empty the oil into a container. Use a good quality 75 – 100mm brush to evenly apply the oil to all four sides of the boards. Rack and leave for approx. 30 minutes to dry, with good ventilation.

NOTE: If you stop for a break or any length of time, it is important to re-stir or remix the Oil before proceeding. The Pigment will fall to the bottom of the container leaving an uneven colour finish.

Step Three: Apply Foreverbreathe Double Colour Mix, 2nd Coat – Apply to all 4 sides Add the selected colour unit(s) to the clear oil and Mix thoroughly by shaking or tipping the container to allow oil and the pigment mix ensure non separation. Empty the oil into a container. Use a good quality 75 – 100mm brush to evenly apply the oil to all four sides of the boards. It is essential, within 30 mins of final application to dry-brush or cloth any excess surface oil to ensure a non-tacky, dust free surface. Rack and leave to dry overnight or approx. 12 Hours, with good ventilation.

After Installation

Step Four: Apply Foreverbreathe Double Colour Mix, 3rd Coat – Apply to Face Only Using the same colour mix, re-coat the boards, repeating Step Two & Three while the boards are insitu. It is essential, within 30 mins of final application to dry-brush or cloth any excess surface oil to ensure a non-tacky, dust free surface. Leave to dry overnight or approx. 12 Hours, with good ventilation.

PROCEDURE TO FINISH EARTHEN WEATHERBOARD & DECKING PRODUCTS IN THE FORVERBREATHE EXTERIOR OIL, LIGHT COLOUR RANGE

(Three Coats. Teak, Pearl, Patina, Straw)

Step Two: Apply Foreverbreathe Double Colour Mix as a Primer, 1st Coat – Apply to all 4 sides Add the colour unit(s) to the clear oil and Mix thoroughly by shaking or tipping the container to allow oil and the pigment mix ensure non separation.

Step Three: Apply Foreverbreathe Double Colour Mix, 2nd Coat – Apply to all 4 sides Using the same mix, re-coat the boards, repeating Step Two. It is essential, within 30 mins of final application to dry-brush or cloth any excess surface oil to ensure a non-tacky, dust free surface. Rack and leave to dry overnight or approx. 12 Hours, with good ventilation.

After Installation

Step Four: Apply Foreverbreathe Double Colour Mix, 3rd Coat – Apply to Face Only Using the same mix, re-coat the boards, repeating Step Two & Three while the boards are insitu. It is essential, within 30 mins of final application to dry-brush or cloth any excess surface oil to ensure a non-tacky, dust free surface. Leave to dry overnight or approx. 12 Hours, with good ventilation.

16. OTHER INFORMATION

EXPOSURE STANDARDS - TIME WEIGHTED AVERAGES: Exposure standards are established onthe premise of an 8 hour work period of normal intensity, under normal climatic conditions and wherea 16 hour break between shifts exists to enable the body to eliminate absorbed contaminants. In thefollowing circumstances, exposure standards must be reduced: Strenuous work conditions; hot, humid climates; high altitude conditions; extended shifts (which increase the exposure period andshorten the period of recuperation).

RESPIRATORS: In general the use of respirators should be limited and engineering controlsemployed to avoid exposure. If respiratory equipment must be worn ensure correct respiratorselection and training is undertaken. Remember that some respirators may be extremelyuncomfortable when used for long periods. The use of air powered or air supplied respirators shouldbe considered where prolonged or repeated use is necessary.
