Johanna Brickman, and Master File 1.0 PURPOSE OF THE MEETING

1.1 This was the third meeting of the East Campus Open Space Framework committee and ZGF. The purpose of the meeting was to continue discussions and review updated layouts for the East Campus Residence Hall site. The following is a brief summary of those discussions. A copy of the graphic material is attached.

1.2 Brian McCarter and Larry Gilbert joined the meeting.

2.0 GENERAL DISCUSSION

2.1 A review of revised site layouts that reflected last week’s discussions. 2.2 The concept still remains to locate buildings at the perimeter of the site and leave the

center as open space. 2.3 Major and minor paths will be identified as they enter and pass through the site. 2.4 Service areas identified. 2.5 Moss Street between 15th and 17th will be re-planned in the future to limit vehicular use

and encourage pedestrian use. Intersections at 15th and 17th will be necked down to restrict vehicular traffic.

2.6 Christina recommends that the design team prepare a series of drawings with the following features:

2.6.1 Major paths 2.6.2 Minor paths 2.6.3 Connections from campus 2.6.4 Building entrances 2.6.5 Service areas 2.6.6 Fire lanes 2.6.7 Vehicular parking areas 2.6.8 Bicycles 2.6.9 Open space and building sites 2.7 Four full basketball courts will need to be relocated. Two courts together work better

than single courts. 2.8 U of O is currently developing a parking study to determine where to locate the

displaced parking. 2.9 Larry Gilbert recommended that we study the site connection from the Northeast. 2.10 The design team will prepare a site drawing that reflects the interim condition that

would reflect the site as it would be left when the ECRH would be finished. While the ECRH is not designed it will start to illustrate the extent of site development will need to occur during the first phase.

3.0 ACTION ITEMS 3.3 The next meeting is scheduled for May 14, 2009.
