Student Empowerment
Data retrieved from SPA and PowerSchool 6.8.16.
17 Lower School scholars, were trained for 20 hours by PIRI (Partners in Restorative Initiatives). Scholars learned skills around listening, communicating, and facilitating mediations. Scholars have facilitated 40 mediations with their peers.
“It was a great experience and helped me solve situations better. I better understood how situations could be solved. We should always have peer mediators at East because it will resolve conflicts between students. When a peer mediates another peer it works because we have a different point of view and are
going through the same things ourselves.” – Brianna Grate, 7th grade peer mediator
