The regeneration of East Grinstead’s town centre is taking major steps forward with progress on a number of sites in the town. Conservative Councillors are keen to promote the regeneration of the town centre to provide better retail and leisure facilities, more opportunities for residents to shop locally and additional employment. Progress includes: New Travelodge hotel and retail opening summer 2016 Planning application submitted for Queens Walk shopping centre redevelopment Plans for Whitehall buildings refurbishment to new modern retail centre New contemporary shops opened in London Road Virtually no empty shop units in the town New development plans for the vacant site next to KFC

East Grinstead is a great town and we want to ensure it is a vibrant community, open to investment and supports residents’ work and life balance. Conservative Councillors are delivering the energy and leadership our town needs - caring and campaigning for East Grinstead and its residents. We’re making real progress on the priorities we have set out to improve local services, bring about regeneration and support town life. Here’s an update on our work:
� Neighbourhood Plan moving forward - examination expected in early summer with a referendum in the summer � Civic pride and town promotions - East Court Live free family music events plus reintroduction of carnival parade plus other regular High Street closure events throughout the year � Establishment of a new hub police station within the Chequer Mead community centre � Expansion of the Sports Development Group which raised over £200,000 in grants for many different town sports clubs � Investment and upgrades to children’s play areas � Increased investment in roads resurfacing (including Beeching Way, Brooklands Way, West Street, Woodbury Avenue, many Imberhorne estate roads and new bus interchange point � Increase in membership of the Kings Centre following investment and upgrades � Christmas lights - further investments and upgrades now including community groups and Bluebell Railway � Honour famous residents including the McIndoe statue, Sydney Godley memorial, Martyrs plaque and Guinea Pig anniversary � Car park charges frozen until 2019 � Grant support to many different local voluntary groups and charities
