Teen Guide to an Awesome Summer. Inside you’ll find suggestions for the

best in books, games, music and movies and great tips to help you dis-

cover cool new activities, places and hobbies. In addition, we have listed

local attractions and summer events to help you make this the greatest

summer yet!

You Are Here @ Your Library! Join the fun this summer and participate in the Northport – East

Northport Teen Summer Reading Club 2011. From June 27-

August 11, students entering grades 6-12 are invited to come to

the library and read for prizes as well as take part in special

programs offered throughout the summer.

Earn one Book Buck for every age-appropriate book that you read.

Obtain your “Read and Rate Forms” in the Teen Centers or online at

www.nenpl.org/teens. Your Book Books will be held at the Reference

Desk. These will be redeemable for cool prizes such as gift certificates,

books, posters and collectibles.

Geocaching: Treasure hunting with a GPS Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout

the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The

basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors

Skate Parks: The Town of Huntington has opened its' first Skate Park, located in

Greenlawn Park on the corner of Broadway and Cuba Hill Road. The

Park, which is 9,200 square feet, has grind boxes, wedges, rails,

spines, ramps, subboxes, quarter pipes, and half pipes ranging up to

eight feet in height. The Park is designed for beginners and

advanced rollerbladers, skateboarders, and BMX bikers. For more
