Situation

East Norton Hall is situated on the edge of the east Leicestershire village of East Norton. The nearby markettown of Uppingham, some five miles away provides an array of everyday shopping facilities and a weeklymarket. Leicester is some fourteen miles. Communications in the area are excellent with the A47 trunk roadconnecting the cities of Leicester and Peterborough. Main line rail services are available from Market Harboroughor Leicester to London St Pancras International in an hour and from Kettering to London Kings Cross in justunder the hour. International air travel is available at East Midlands Airport, Birmingham, Stansted and Luton.

Recreational facilities in the area are renowned with Rutland Water set to the east, between Uppingham andOakham. This provides sailing, water sport activities, fishing, scenic walks and the Rutland Water Cycle Route.

Schools in the vicinity are excellent with preparatory and primary education at Tugby, Hallaton, Uppingham,Oakham, Stamford and Great Glen. Secondary education is available at Market Harborough, Uppingham,Oakham, Stamford, Oundle and Leicester.

The Property

Occupying an enviable position, the Hall offers a high degree of privacywith views over the formal gardens and pastureland, particularly to the west.There is a date stone of 1674 on the house but the present building waserected in 1871, partly on the foundations of the earlier building andextended. It is constructed of squared ironstone with limestone dressingsand a Collyweston slate roof.
