Throughout history, the

church has been on the

forefront of ministry during

trying times. During the

medieval occurrences of the

plague, priests & monks

were the ones who visited &

prayed with the sick & often buried the dead. During

the Spanish flu epidemic, churches & ministries

cared for the sick & dying, & buried the victims. On

Banda Aceh, after the tidal wave, missionaries

recovered the dead that Muslims were unwilling

retrieve & bury. As church members we should do

our best to help our fellow church members & our

community as well. Pray that the Covid-19 outbreak

will end quickly, pray for those who are affected by

it, & look for ways to help. Fear does not become a

follower of Christ. Service does.

Easter is going to be great. The Resurrection is the

primary non-negotiable belief of our faith. We rejoice

in the opportunity to celebrate it. Regardless of

whether or not we can celebrate it together, we will

still celebrate the resurrection.

CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

The Constitution and By-Laws Committee will

propose a change to the By-Laws regarding the

Moderator of Business Meetings and Chair of

Church Council. The proposals provide when the

Church is without a Pastor and has entered into a

leadership agreement with someone who is serving

the congregation in the pastoral role, that individual

will moderate church business meetings and chair

church council meetings during his time here.

The Transportation Committee has a Golf Cart

Policy and Procedure that will be presented.

Copies of the aforementioned proposals will be

available at the church office and other locations

that will be easily accessible once we are back to

worshiping in person. Until then, if you would like to

review the proposals, please contact Chrissy in

the church office and request an emailed or

mailed copy of the proposals.

PHELPS FUND

First Baptist members facing the financial

challenges of a medical condition which requires

special nursing or home care assistance can apply
