In the Easter time people celebrate The Last Supper,crucifiction of Jesus Christ and his ressurection.

The main colour, which representthe Easter and is using by priests, is purple.

In the Holy Week people go to the church to hear the mass.

In the Holy Saturday people go to the churchwith Holy Baskets, where they are sprinkleby the priest with holy water.

One of the most important things in this week is great Paschal Triduum.

It’s preparing us for the biggest feastof Christians, the resurrection of Christ.

Holy Week is the time of reflectionlast days of Christ.

Holy Week begins Palm Sunday and end the Great Vespers Sunday,closing the Paschal Triduum.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy Week are special days devotedto the reconciliation.

The most important period of the liturgical year is Holy Week and the Paschal Triduum.

It covers the period from the evening Mass on Holy Thursday and continuesuntil vespers on Easter Sunday.

The basket should be decorated with sprigs of boxwoodand should have in it some food, which is very important in Easter.

The Holy Basket have to be bless in the church on Holy Saturday.

- eggs (kraszanki, pisanki) they are symbols of life,

- lamb from sugar or some cake, with flag with inscription "Hallelujah",

- salt (symbol of resurrection of Jesus Christ),

- bread (symbol of body of Jesus Christ),

- pork-butcher's products (symbol of fertility and health),

- horseradish (symbol of strength),

- cheese (symbol of dependence on human and nature power),

- cake (symbol of skills and perfection).

Easter Sunday is the end of Lent.

It's the oldest and the largest celebration of Christians.

After return to home from morning Mass, we eat a solemn breakfast.

We share egg with other persons (mostly with family members) and we wish each other all the best.

Dyngus DayDyngus Day

Dyngus Day or Wet Monday - that are the names for Easter Monday in Poland.

From the morning children are running with water guns, buckets of water or others. It's a day full of fun.

The Easter Monday is one of the traditions in Poland. It’s a day when people (mostly children) are pouring the water on themselves during all day.
