IORANA RAPA NUI in native language means "Welcome to Easter Island".
Easter Island (Rapa Nui in native language) is located in the Chilean Polynesia, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It has an area of approximately 163.6 km2 (1.016 miles), which makes it the largest island in insular Chile. The island has an estimated population of 5.000 inhabitants, concentrated in Hanga Roa, its main village and capital. There is no other inhabited place in the world such as Easter Island. Its unique location gives it authenticity and an aura of fascinating mystery.
The island is one of the main attractions of Chile, its natural beauty, beaches, landscapes and volcanoes, ideal to know through excursions, horseback riding, hiking, bird watching, diving and photography. Finally, you will be able to learn about its mysterious ancestral culture, with its huge volcanic stone statues called MOAIS, silent witnesses of Rapa Nui heritage.

It is advisable to carry cash from the mainland, even though in the vast majority of places payments are accepted with credit cards.

:: Suggested Clothing: Travel light, but pack sturdy, outdoor hiking boots. Take comfortable, layered trekking clothing such as fleeces, t-shirts, swimming gear, shorts, long pants and long-sleeved shirts. Include an outdoor warm top for cold nights as well as a hat. Lip balm, sun-screen and sun glasses.

AHI AKIVI, THE SEVEN MOAISHALF DAY - EXC0215IPC
Departure from your hotel at Easter Island to Ahu Akivi, one of the few platforms on the island where the Moais face the ocean. Legend tells that these structures represent the seven explorers sent by King Hotu Matu’a before his colonization voyage.After this visit we will continue our trip toward the site of Puna Pau, a small red scoria crater, location at which the Pukao were made, a kind of hats or topknots placed on top of some Moais of the island. Finally, visit Ahu Uri Aurenga, which has a single
statue and has the distinction of having an orientation in the line of the winter solstice, marking not only the beginning of this season (tonga), but also the time of different taboo (prohibitions) regulating fishing and other activities on the island. Astronomically it is also facing east, lined with two neighboring hills, and Maunga Mataengo and Maunga Tararaina, as well as 2 smaller Ahu nearby.Return to your hotel at Easter Island.
ORONGO, TANGATA MANU CEREMONIALHALF DAY - EXC0115IPC
Departure from your hotel towards the Cave Ana Kai Tangata, where in one of its walls, birds are drawn in a stylized painting, representing Manutara (sea swallows) and whose precious egg was the center of the annual birdman competition. Later visit the Vinapu sector, an archaeological site which has large basalt slabs carefully made similarly to the Cuzco Inca constructions. Continue to Rano Kau, a place where you will find a lake with small islands of reeds and lush
vegetation and micro fauna. Orongo ceremonial village where the ceremony of the Bird Man competition was performed. The Bird Man was appointed by the king and would be the spiritual and political leader during a period of one year. The sacred character is represented as a human shrunken body with a large beak and is sculpted in many engraved stones.

Our travelers will have a private transfer to Caleta Hanga Roa where we will be received by the crew to sail in this great experience. We will sail from Rapa Nui to Los Motus (Motu Kao Kao, Motu Iti and Motu Nui), islets that are relevant to the Tangata Manu myth. Snorkeling is also possible in this area. Later we will arrive to Vinapu and from the ocean we will have a clear view of Tongariki and other Ahus or Ceremonial Center and their
Moais. After our “pascuense” style barbeque or a sea food lunch we will arrive at Ovahe and Anakena Beaches; there will have enough time to swim, walk around the beach or have a quick nap under the sun while enjoying of a typical Rapa Nui Cocktail.
ANAKENA AND THE LOST CULTURE OF RAPA NUIFULL DAY - EXC0415IPC
Departure from our hotel at Easter Island to the east of the island to visit the Ahu Vaihu and Akahanga, temples formed by platforms or stone altars where Moais (huge monolithic figures carved of volcanic stone) and Pukaos (the hats or topknots formerly placed on top of some Moai statues)are assembled together. Continuing our trip, we will go to Rano Raraku, a volcanic crater formed of consolidated ash, which contains also a lagoon. The volcano has a historical significance for the island, because on its slopes the Moais were carved. Currently there remain 397 of these impressive sculptures.
Then we will visit the most surprising Ahu, a ceremonial platform, on the island. Ahu Tongariki has got 15 huge Moais. But in fact, it is Te Pito Kura which has the largest statue erected on an Ahu, the Moai Paro, with 10 meters high and 85 tons in weight. Next to Te Pito Kura we will find a large spherical stone which is identified as the navel of the world – Te Pito o Te Henua. Finally, we will finish our day resting at Anakena, the most popular beach on the island. Besides its natural beauty, what makes it a unique beach is a row of Moais which turn their backs to the sea. Definitely Anakena is an unique landscape to enjoy before returning to our hotel at Easter Island.

Depart from your hotel in Easter Island to visit the Market, located next to the Church of the island. First, get to the town center, where you will find souvenir shops, restaurants and cafes. Here you will make a stop at the Craft Fair of Hanga Roa, where there is also a small section dedicated to selling local fruits and vegetables.
Next, head towards Tahai Archaeological Complex; recognized as a perfect restoration of the original architecture of Easter Island. Finally, visit Father Sebastian Englert
Anthropological Museum, entity that stores important collections of objects that reconstruct the history Rapa Nui.

Departure from our hotel at Easter Island around 17:00 hrs to enjoy one of the best restaurants on Rapa Nui. The typical food of the island is mainly based on sea products such as fish and seafood, so we can try a three-course-menu with a delicious appetizer, main course and a dessert, all based on local products.
Then, around 21:00 hrs we will go to Kari Kari Cultural Center, where we will enjoy a typical artistic show of the Rapa Nui culture. Each
dance depicts scenes from everyday life, love and war for example, so in many of them we will see a great display of strength by the dancers, who do not cease to amaze us during our evening. Finally, we will return to our hotel at Easter Island.
TONGARIKI SUNRISEHALF DAY - EXC0715IPC
Departure from our hotel at Easter Island around 6:00 hrs in the morning to enjoy the sunrise at the largest Ahu on Rapa Nui, the Tongariki Ahu. Due to its location, this is the best place to appreciate the sunrise among the 15 Moais that form this Ahu.
The combination of colors, the sea and the historical Moais provide magic and mysticism to this place. Definitely we will enjoy an unique experience, a great way to start the day on Easter Island. Then we will return to our hotel

TAHAI SUNSETHALF DAY - EXC0615IPC
Departure from your hotel in Easter Island around 07:00 pm (depending on the winter or summer season), to enjoy the sunset at Tahai. Near the center of town, Tahai is an archaeological complex consisting of three temples, called Vai Uri, Tahai and Ko Te Riku.

Departure from our hotel in Easter Island in order to visit the south of the island, towards the ceremonial center of Orongo. In front of this center we will see three small portions of land, which added to the largest island, form the Los Motus archipelago.
These islets will hold our diving activity, which will result an overwhelming and fascinating experience. Easter Island has a marine topography rich in caves, arches, cliffs and lava platforms – the ideal atmosphere to enjoy a lot

SNORKELING AT LOS MOTUSHALF DAY - EXC3115IPC
Depart from your hotel in Easter Island heading south of the island, towards the ceremonial center of Orongo. In front of this center lay three small portions of land, which in addition to the largest island, form part of the Los Motus archipelago.
Among these islands you will perform your snorkeling activity, which will result in an overwhelming and fascinating experience. In the warm and clear waters you will find coral reefs, fish of various colors, and with a little
luck sea turtles.

GLASS-BOTTOM BOAT RIDEHALF DAY - EXC3315IPC
You´ll be picked up from your hotel and brought to Hanga Piko bay, where you will begin your boat tour. The boat includes a glass bottom and will sail to the " Motu " or islets located opposite to the Rano Kau volcano, where the Tangata Manu or Birdman competition once took place. Thanks to the glass bottom installed on the boat you can see our underwater wonders, showing a variety of beautiful colorful fish, corals and very attractive rock formations; all characteristics of the marine environment of the island. From this point, we will see spectacular views of Rapa Nui and even get an overview of the circumference of the earth.

This time we will reach the highest point on the Island for a 360 degree view of Rapa Nui. We will begin our horseback riding towards Maunga Kuma and the crater of the Maunga Terevaka, where, aside from viewing the whole island, our eyes will be able to see the curvature of the Earth.
The experience continues northeast to Anakena, here we can enjoy its warm waters. At this point some of us can return to the hotel or close the day with the Ahu Akivi and its seven Moais wonderfully kept in the archaeological center of Roiho.
The seven Moais represent the first seven explorers sent by King Hoty Mata to survey the island; these are the only Moais that are “facing” the ocean.

Every year people of Easter Island celebrate the main artistic and cultural activity of Rapa Nui: the Tapati Festival, which begins the first week of FEBRUARY and lasts approximately 2 weeks.
During the festival a series of ancestral ceremonies are practiced to recreate heritage activities like the following ones:
:: Vaka Tuai: each team must recreate a traditional Polynesian boat and then travel on it.:: Takona: or body painting competition. Competitors apply different techniques mixing natural pigments to finally describe the meaning of their painting to the community.:: Riu: competition where a member of each team plays ritual songs that narrate or tell epic stories and legends of Rapa Nui.:: Koro Haka Opo: competition of musical bands which emphasizes the choral singing of the participants, without repeating or making mistakes in the lyrics.:: Haka Pei: risky young people glide on banana tree trunks through the slopes of Puhu hill. Athletes reach speeds up to 50 MPH.:: Pora: swimming competition on a totora float. It measures the endurance and dexterity of competitors covering a distance of 1,500 m, with typical costumes and body painting.:: Tau'a Rapa Nui: sports competition that takes place in Rano Raraku. As a triathlon, three traditional races are alternated: Vaka Ama (canoeing on small totora boats), swimming with Pora (totora float) and Aka Venga (running with two banana heads carried on a rod over the shoulders) .:: Titingi Mahute: competition of work with mahute with which after processing the raw material, are made typical costumes.

GENERALRates of IORANA RAPA NUI 2017 | ADSMUNDO® are expr essed in American dollars (USD). This edition is valid until dates when prompted, but all the published products, services or hotels have their validity identified. DOCUMENTATIONIt is each passenger's and their Travel Agent's responsibility to ensure they have the corresponding documents to make the trip. CONFIRMATIONS, CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONSADSMUNDO® is committed to send individual written replies for bookings requests within 48 working hours, with the exception of unforeseen conditions or force majeurereasons that may interfere in clients and suppliers normal communication channels. A service is not considered requested if there is not a written request. Likewise, a booking is valid only if ADSMUNDO® does it by written means. The same condition applies to changes and cancellations. ADSMUNDO® makes the requested reservations, changes and cancellations, according to the conditions stipulated by each supplier. These conditions may change according to the product, service, number of passengers, season, or other reasons. It is very important to consider that modifications in the original booking may generate changes on the final quotation. It is important to inform the ADSMUNDO® Reservation Number (FF) in case of a change in any reservation, in order to facilitate the file’s localization. It is understood that conditions may vary for individuals and groups, or for certain dates and seasons. Likewise, ADSMUNDO® obeys prepayment and payment policies, reserve signal rules, refunds, fines and restriction established by the products and Services suppliers. Although ADSMUNDO® will try to avoid cancellation charges, the client must accept expenses incurred and charges established by the supplier, which may add be up to 100% of the original. PASSENGERS INFORMATIONIt is the Outbound Tour Operator's responsibility to provide ADSMUNDO® with all the information regarding each passenger, at least one week before their arrival. Thisapplies specifically to passengers who will travel in crafts such as Australis Cruises, Skorpios, Andean Crossing and others, or by local airlines. The information refers to: passenger's full name, date of birth, citizenship and passport number. Please, ask your ADSMUNDO® Account Executive for the passenger form.

CONFIRMATION AND MODIFICATION OF FLIGHTSIt is the Outbound Tour Operator's responsibility to provide ADSMUNDO® with the correct flight information (airline, flight number, schedules, PNR and passenger's fullnames), at least 72 prior to the passenger arrival. This ensures that ADSMUNDO® will coordinate the adequate services. In case of groups the information shall be sent with a wider gap of time. For security reasons, airlines are not authorized to inform passenger's names. Therefore it isnot possible to confirm arrival or departure details without the PNR. According to Chilean airlines rules, passengers themselves have to make changes in case of needing them.Flight confirmation is initially passenger's responsibility. The passenger may request ADSMUNDO® staff collaboration. In that case he/she should give appropriate information, including the PNR. Passengers must never give their travel documents to third parties. In case of requiring assistance with the confirmation, passengersshould wait for a phone call or written confirmation stating that this has been done.
PAYMENTSPayment conditions are valid according to the agreement with each client. These conditions must be complied with, in order to provide the services.
RESPONSABILITYADSMUNDO® acts as an intermediary and coordinator between Outbound Tour Operators and the services and products Suppliers. Therefore, ADSMUNDO® cannot be heldliable for differences or damages a passenger could incur due to a determined supplier error or omission. Likewise, ADSMUNDO® cannot be held liable for situations arising from force majeure reasons, natural phenomenon or criminal acts. Nevertheless, ADSMUNDO® is committed to contribute in finding solutions to any problem the passenger may face during their stay in the country, taking into account that the costs shall be borne by the passengers. ADSMUNDO® is not liable for any cost generated by change or cancellation of services, losses or delays which are not direct responsibility of ADSMUNDO®, neither will ADSMUNDO® assume expenses for losses or damage of goods or documents belonging to the passengers.
