A small change to St. Marys’ Church for anyone entering from the side door near the

Sacristy and Parish Centre. The Holy water font will be removed, by the statue of the Pieta, and

we are asking people to bless themselves with water in the Baptismal Font. This is a rich sign

from our church history where people always entered the church and blessed themselves from

the Baptismal font reminding them of their Baptism.

From the desk of Father Lucio and Father Alan:

ALLELUIA! HE HAS RISEN, ALLELUIA!

Alleluia means “thank God”. We thank God that Jesus has conquered death by rising from the

dead. He not only conquered, He won for us ETERNAL LIFE! And we as Christians who

share life in the Risen Christ are called to be people of the Resurrection. What does that

mean? We are to be people of life. People who raise each other’s spirits. We are to raise the

hopeless into hope, the poor to dignity, the sad into joy, the marginalized into inclusion; we

are called to bring LIFE to all. This Easter we invite all parishioners of our Catholic Family

of Parishes in Norfolk to be true people; that brings life and hope to all those we encounter.

That is what we pray and hope. That we all bring the true Spirit of the Resurrection to our

homes, our work places and to all we encounter. May the true spirit of Life be our

Commitment, as followers of Jesus, who gave us His life so that we may live our lives to the

fullest.

Father Alan, Father Lucio and our Parish Team wish you a Blessed Easter filled with the

Spirit of the new life Christ has offered us.

Let us rejoice and celebrate our Catholic Family of Parishes in Norfolk: on June the 17th,

2018 at 11:00 a.m., Bishop Fabbro will be with us at Holy Trinity High School, to Celebrate

with all of us. We Hope all of you will make an effort to be part of this Great Celebration. Do

mark it as a very special occasion on your calendars.

As a celebration and conclusion of the Why Catholic? of our Family of Parishes and other

“faith Sharing Groups” we would like to sponsor a POT LUCK DINNER. SUNDAY,

APRIL 15, following the 11:00 am Mass at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Parish Hall, Delhi.

Please join us and indicate to your Group leader if you will be attending. Bring your favourite

dish, be it meat, potato, salad or dessert. We will share together and eat well. All parishioners

are welcome from our four parishes.

AED – Automated External Defibrillator. The Pastoral Care Team are hoping that we can

purchase an AED for St. Mary’s and St. Cecilia’s Churches. They are presently installed in

Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs’ and at St Bernard’s Churches. If you wish to contribute to their

purchase because it speaks to your heart, we would welcome any donations towards this

cause. Each AED is about $500.00 Thank you.

Mrs. Virginia Eade Pastoral Minister

Every Sunday at Mass we hear the commission to go out and live our faith, but what are we being asked to do? Quite simply,

we are asked to share with others the love and charity Christ has shown us. Some of us like to visit, so we would make great

visitors on the team that go to the nursing homes or hospitals, where the time is slow and the people are alone. Some of us are

welcoming and warm hosts, so we would be great as greeters at the mass. Some of us have been blessed with strong voices

and would be great readers or choir members. Some of us teach (and not just teachers) and would thrive sharing our faith

with our youth at Sunday School or in the upcoming Vacation Bible School. Everywhere the church seeks to be the hands

and feet of Jesus, there is a need. As the Bible reminds us, the harvest is great, but the workers are few. You don’t have to be

an expert. You will be welcomed and trained and supported by our volunteers along the way. They do a great job, and more

hands make light work. You can even bring a friend or a spouse and do some of these things together. Please consider having

a role in the greater life of the church. Kathryn Heemskerk 519-582-1312 Ext 224.
