Transitioning from Information to Knowledge of Curbside Use
To date, we have identified some distinct trends in curbside use, supply, and demand. – Parking meter transactions (single space, multi-space, pay by phone) – Parking violations – Vehicle registrations – RPP permits issued – Annual visitor pass requests – Cursory curbside use inventory
Going forward there are two key pursuits to explore to better understand and assist in problem solving curbside management in this area:
– In-depth demand analysis • Parking occupancy and turnover studies (Who is parking? How long are they parking,
What is the utilization rate of the curbspace?) – Land use and population demographic analysis
• What demographics of residents, visitors, and economic activity influence curbside use and/or modes of transportation?
