Assets available at:http://www.tes.co.uk/teaching-resource/Simple-

Create a new image500 pixels wide by 600 pixels high.Note that this is a size only suitable for screen, print size would be larger.
Unlock the background layer by dragging the lock to the bin at the bottom of the screen
Choose a similar contrasting foreground and background colour
Double click the background layer and choose a radial gradient overlay, reversed (have a play with the other gradient options!).
Open Photo Girl Green and use the magic wand or quick selection tool to select and cut out the background.
Use the Move tool to drag the girl onto your gradient background.Use Edit > Free Transform to scale and position her on the screen.
Cut out the photography lights image with the magic wand or quick selection tool.Use the Move tool to drag it onto your image.
Use Edit > Free Transform to scale and position it on the screen.Adjust the layer position so it is behind the girl
Double click the layer with the girl and add a subtle Drop Shadow and Outer Glow to make her stand out on the screen.
Add a masthead using the text tool. Double click the text layer and add “Stroke” and “Drop Shadow” to make the text stand out.
Add in a cover line. You can adjust the spacing between letters by using :Window / CharacterAnd then adjusting the tracking (mine is set to -50 above)
- Create a new layer, draw a rectangular marquee shape and fill with white.
- Repeat the above but make a larger, blue rectangle- Add a “puff promo” on top of your rectangle shapes
Your finished cover should look something like this.
EXTENSIONAdd these magazine cover conventions to your design:
