It’s here… BAND CAMP. We’ll see you all bright and early and ready to go at 9am each day (keeping in mind that the START time is 9. Please be mindful of how long it will take to get settled with your instrument ready and build in some time.) Parents dropping off and picking up, PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY IN THE PARKING LOT. Better yet, use the main parking lot loop by the office for drop off and pick up each day. Even better, park and get out and watch the last few minutes of practice each night. You will be amazed at how much progress your students will make just this week! PS: DON’T FORGET YOUR HEALTH FORMS! (and copies of insurance card and immunizations).

FORT MILL HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND EBLAST AUGUST 4, 2019
Show Shirts:
What are we talking about? These are the cotton tee shirts with the FM band logo on the front and this year’s show theme on the back. Students will wear these under their uniform EVERY TIME, as well as their shirt on casual performance days (early football games, etc) with navy blue shorts. Each student will receive one free shirt. We recommend purchasing one more, so that a clean one is always available. Quite often, we will have a Friday night football game followed by an early competition on Saturday. Having at least 2 shirts will help prevent that late night laundry panic! We will be passing out order forms on Tuesday morning during drop-off, but one is also attached to this Eblast for your convenience. The Band Store will be taking orders on Tuesday before the booster meeting at 7:30, and on Friday after the student performance (outside of the band room). Parents can also order shirts for friends and family. It is a great way to feel connected to other families in the cheering section at competitions. Cash, credit cards, or checks made payable to FMDBBC will be accepted.
Painless Fundraiser Alert! Don't forget to re-link your VIC card to the Fort Mill High Band Booster (Code 1548) today! You need to re-link it every year. You can link your card by logging into your Harris Teeter account online or by simply asking your cashier at checkout! The Fort Mill High Band Boosters will receive a portion of all Harris Teeter branded products that you purchase!

Don’t forget to pay your $100 district fee prior to the first football game here! This fee is assessed by the school district, and does not go to the band.
CHAPERONE’S CORNER
Remember to fuel up with a healthy breakfast of carbs and protein-NO DAIRY! You’ll thank us later. If you still need to fill out your health form and turn in copies of your immunization form and insurance card, we will accept them in hard copy format through the first day of band camp. Monday of band camp is designated as form turn in day. Chaperones will be available at drop off to collect your forms. If we haven’t received this information by band camp week, your student will not be able to receive their show shirt. Still need a copy of the health form? One is attached below.
Hospitality News
It's finally here...band camp week. Thank you so much to all the parents that have signed up to help serve meals and those that have donated drinks & desserts. I
really appreciate the support! There are still a few slots left, so please volunteer if you are able. It's a great opportunity to meet other band parents and see how your
student is adjusting to the rigors of band without being intrusive.

We will be collecting desserts and drinks as you drop your student off in the morning, or if you are volunteering to help serve meals you can bring it with you then. All meals will be served in the main Commons (just past the auditorium).
Lunch will be served at 12pm and dinner will be at 5pm. Volunteers please arrive 15 mins before those times, so we will be ready to go and keep those lines moving.
Thank you to everyone who donated drinks this past week, we have a great start to our supply. Since the students and staff will go through 400+ drinks each day, we will still be collecting donations each morning. Non caffeine options are always a
great choice (lemonade, tea, root beer, Sprite) as well as the classics (Coke, Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew).
A limited number of vegetarian & gluten free meals will be available for lunch and dinner. If your student requires such a meal, please have them tell a parent
volunteer and we will get it from the kitchen.
Paulette Potts, who is with the FMSD, will be cooking our meals, just as she has done for many years. Paulette volunteers countless hours to our band and we are so appreciative of all her help. We will be collecting monetary donations during
the week to give to her on Friday. Please send in whatever you can give with your student and have them sign the card that will be in the band room.
