The New Yorker Residence is located in the famous Herald Square area, withinwalking distance of Times Square, Broadway and Off-Broadway Theatres, MadisonSquare Garden, and the Empire State Building.

The New Yorker Residence is located on floors 15-18 of the New Yorker Hotel, whichoffers fully-furnished single or twin en-suite rooms with a TV, high-speed internetand refrigerator. This residence is a great choice for students on the go, looking foran independent experience. The building features lounges, a laundry room and agym facility. Linen will be provided but students should bring their own towels.Students will cook for themselves, and are responsible for maintaining their ownrooms (cleaning products can be purchased inexpensively nearby). The buildingstaff clean the common areas (hallways, lounges, kitchens) daily.

The easiest way to get to school is to walk. The residence is 1subway stop or a 15 -minute walk from the school. Students can purchase a weekly ($32) or monthly ($131)Unlimited Ride MetroCard from Subway Station Booths orMetro Card Vending Machines (prices may vary).

When you arrive at the New Yorker, please give your first andlast name and tell the security guard by the elevators that youare checking in with EHS student. The security guard shouldthen direct you to the student housing office on the 15th flooror give you a temporary key. You do not need to provide anydeposit or security hold to the residence. The residence office isnot open 24 hours a day, however if you arrive outside officehours the keys will be left at the security desk for you to pick upupon arrival.

Students cancelling or postponing within 14 days of arrival date,for reasons other than visa denial, will be charged a one-weekaccommodation fee at the standard accommodation rate andthe accommodation placement fee.

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice inwriting 4 weeks prior to termination. After deducting the priceof accommodation used, including the required notice period,charged at standard accommodation rates, students will berefunded the remaining accommodation costs. If the 4-weeknotice period is not provided a cancellation fee equal to 4weeks of the accommodation cost will apply.

Taxi:

Go to the taxi stand outside, and tell the driver that you are going to 8th Ave.between 34th St. and 35th St. in Manhattan. (The address is: 481 8th Ave.)

AirTrain:

1. Take the Jamaica Station/Sutphin Line to Jamaica Station/Sutphin2. Transfer to the E train headed toward Manhattan and get off at Penn

Station/34th St.3. Leave the station from the 8th Ave. Exit, and walk north toward 35th St. The

New Yorker will be on the west side of 8th Ave. between 34th St. and 35th St.

Departure Transfers

If you booked a departure transfer with EC, please come to the front desk on yourlast week. We will arrange for the pickup time 4 hours before your flight and pickyou up from your accommodation. We plan for 4 hours to accommodate traveltime, traffic, security and clearance. If you would like to book a departure transfer,you come to the front desk any time before your last week.
