EcoBrite™ LED Conversion Kits allow fluorescent luminaires to be converted into energy efficient LED lighting systems. Kits include two or more EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixtures, low voltage power supplies and installation hardware. EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixtures are completely assembled modules that can be mounted inside the existing cavity of the fluorescent luminaire.
EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixture An EcoBrite™ LED Conversion Kit may be installed in many common fluorescent luminaires. Examples of these luminaires are shown below. Variations of these basic models may be compatible provided they meet the minimum construction and dimensional requirements stated below.
WARNING – Risk of fire or electric shock. Luminaires compatible with an EcoBrite™ LED Conversion Kit must meet the following construction and dimensional requirements.
- The included EcoBrite™ Regulated 12VDC Class 2 Power Supply must be installed in the location of the original fluorescent ballast. The existing luminaire must include a ballast cover or housing with minimum dimensions of 1.25”(height) x 2”(width) x 12”(length).
- The existing luminaire must have adequate space to house the EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixtures. Each 2’ EcoBrite™ fixture requires a space of 1.25”(height) x 2.25”(width) x 23.875”(length). Each 4’ EcoBrite™ fixture requires a space of 1.25”(height) x 2.25”(width) x 46.75”(length).
- If the optional EcoBrite™ Mounting Brackets are used, an additional 3/8” of height is required.

WARNING – Risk of fire or electric shock. EcoBrite™ LED Conversion Kit installation requires knowledge of luminaire and electrical systems. If not qualified, do not attempt installation. Contact a licensed electrician to complete the installation.
WARNING – EcoBrite™ LED Conversion Kits are for use in converting luminaires supplied by 110VAC or 240VAC only. Do not use with luminaires supplied by 277VAC.
Installation:
1. TURN OFF POWER TO THE FLUORESCENT LUMINAIRE. DO NOT ATTEMPT INSTALLATION UNTIL IT IS VERIFIED THAT THE POWER IS OFF.
2. Open or remove the diffuser panel, parabolic louver, or other cover, if present.
3. Remove the fluorescent tubes. Properly dispose after conversion kit installation.
4. Remove the ballast cover and disconnect the ballast input wires from the power wires entering the luminaire. Leave the ground wire connected to the luminaire.
5. Remove the existing ballast, lampholders, and lampholder wiring from the luminaire. The ballast will be replaced with the EcoBrite™ Regulated 12VDC Class 2 Power Supply (PN 750-9995) which has an output of 12VDC and can operate with an input of 100-240VAC.

6. Inspect the available space in the luminaire and choose the mounting locations for the EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixtures to be installed. The diagram below shows the preferred mounting locations for a 2-light fixture conversion kit in a 2x4 foot luminaire. Mounting locations may vary with other luminaires and/or number of light fixtures but 2 pilot holes should be drilled 14.5 inches apart for each light fixture to be installed. Use a pencil to mark the pilot holes on the luminaire.
7. Drill a 1/8” diameter pilot hole into the mounting surface at each of the marks made in step 6.
WARNING – Risk of fire or electric shock. Prior to drilling, ensure that there are no components behind the mounting surface in the areas marked off for the mounting holes.
Only those open holes indicated in the photographs and/or drawings may be made or altered as a result of kit installation. Do not leave any other open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical components.

8. Attach the mounting clips and mounting brackets with #8 sheet metal screws in the pilot holes. See figure below. If the optional mounting brackets are not used, the mounting clips may be fastened directly to the luminaire at the pilot hole locations.
9. Hold the 12 VDC power supply to the troffer in the same location as the original ballast. The power supply should be oriented with the AC input wires facing the AC power wires entering the luminaire. With a pencil, mark new pilot hole locations on the luminaire through the mounting holes of the power supply. Drill 1/8” pilot holes at these locations and fasten the power supply to the luminaire with #8 sheet metal screws. See drawing above.
10. Connect the power supply’s AC input wires to the AC power wires coming into the luminaire using the included quick-disconnect terminal. Reference the included installation instruction sheet for the quick-disconnect terminal. Leave the ground wire connected to the luminaire.
WARNING – To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not expose wiring to edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.

11. Snap the back side of the EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixture into the mounting clips as shown in the figure below.
12. Connect the EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixture’s power wires to the Regulated 12VDC Class 2 power supply using included wire nuts or appropriate wire connectors.
Red wire - Connect to (+) positive output of the 12VDC power supply.
Green/Yellow wire - Connect to (-) negative output of the 12VDC power supply.
Optional Linear Dimming Control: An optional 0-10V dimming module may be installed between the Regulated 12VDC Class 2 power supply and the EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixtures to provide linear dimming. Dimming modules sold separately. Optional Occupancy Sensor Control: An optional power pack may be installed before the regulated 12VDC class 2 power supply for controlling the EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixtures with an occupancy sensor or other control input. Power packs and occupancy sensors sold separately.
WARNING: EcoBrite™ lights must be connected to a Regulated 12VDC Class 2 Power Supply to operate. Use only recommended EcoBrite™ power supplies. All wiring must be in compliance with NEC and local codes.

13. Gather slack wires and secure them together with electrical tape or cable ties.
14. Reinstall the ballast cover over the wires and power supply. Be sure no wires are pinched or
touch sharp edges and all high voltage wiring is enclosed within the ballast cover.
15. Replace the diffuser panel, parabolic louver, or other cover, if desired, and turn the power back
on to the luminaire to verify proper installation.
Removal
If an EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixture needs to be removed from the luminaire, place a standard screwdriver between the rail and the side of the mounting clip. Gently press the screwdriver handle towards the light to release. Do this for both clips. Refer to the image below.

Cleaning
If an EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixture requires cleaning, follow the procedure below.
- Switch off or disconnect the power to the EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixture. - Remove the EcoBrite™ LED Light Fixture from the mounting clips if necessary. - Wipe surfaces with a clean, soft cloth lightly dampened in a mixture of warm water and mild dish
soap.
- Wipe surfaces again with a clean, soft cloth lightly dampened in warm water. - Dry all surfaces completely with a clean, soft cloth. - Reattach the lamp to the mounting clips and switch on/reconnect power.
CANADIAN INSTALLATIONS: THE RETROFIT KIT IS ACCEPTABLE AS A COMPONENT OF A LUMINAIRE WHERE THE SUITABILITY OF THE COMBINATION SHALL BE DETERMINED BY CSA OR AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION.
Save these instructions for reference
Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or paper towels to clean or dry
the lamp. Do not use bleach, alcohol, or other chemicals to clean the lamp.
Some chemicals and abrasive products may scratch and damage the surfaces.
Do not submerge the lamp or use overly wet cloths as it may cause damage to
internal electrical components.

WARRANTY INFORMATION Innovative Lighting Inc. (ILC) Limited Product Warranty is FIVE (5) YEARS from date of purchase on EcoBrite™ LED Conversion Kits and their components. Any product developing such defect in material or workmanship within this period will be repaired or replaced with a like product, at our option (ILC) providing it is sent to us, transportation charges prepaid. Proof-of-Purchase date must accompany return to ILC at our Roland, Iowa facility. ILC does not warrant contractor’s installation work or performance. This warranty is void if the product warranted has been damaged by accident or unreasonable use, neglect, improper installation or service, or other cause not arising out of defects in material or workmanship. This FIVE (5) YEAR limited product warranty is not transferable and applies to the original installation of the EcoBrite™ LED Conversion Kits for as long as the original purchaser owns them. SHIPPING DAMAGE The EcoBrite™ LED Conversion Kits should be examined for shipping damage upon receipt. The components in the kits have been carefully inspected before shipment. Any claim for loss or damage must be made to the carrier, which will provide any necessary inspection reports and/or claim forms.
