VIKING LINE & ENVIROMENT
Viking Line is using the best available technology to save the enviroment.
Before Viking Line ships have cleaned the wastewater onboard, but it has been researched that cleaning the wastewater onshore is more enviroment friendly. Nowadays, everytime Viking Line ship gets anchored, it pumps all wastewaters to the water treatment plants.
Some Viking Line ships are using electricity from onshore sources. That means that some of these ships don’t have to use any gas to generate energy, they can just load the batteries when they are anchored.
Because there are so many little islands in the area of Åland,Viking Line is decreasing the waves made by ships. Viking Line also use speed limits and fairway selections to protect the archipelago.
