i. GENERAL PROJECT INFORMATION
− Project : Al Qatrana Power Project − Location : Jordan - Qatrana − Building : Emergency Diesel Generator Building
ii. APPLICABLE CODES, STANDARDS & REFERENCES
− ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers). − Jordanian National Code.
iii. HVAC CALCULATION METHOD
Supplied air flow rate for a space is determined by the zone load requirements, any possible makeup air need due to direct exhaust and pressurization requirements. Outdoor air quantity of spaces are determined as per applicable standard to maintain acceptable indoor air quality in the space. The software programs used for load calculation are Carrier E20-II / HAP V.4.4 & Carrier E20-II / Block Load V.3.05.

v. Exhaust Air Louver Sizing
As per EDG vendor requirements, the exhaust louver shall be 2100x2100mm
vi. Fresh Air Louver Sizing
As per OFR requirements & standards, the fresh velocity is 2 m/s across Louver. As per vendor requirements the flow is Flow: 13520 L/s Hence, area is: Total Area= 13520/(2x1000) = 6.76 m2 This area is higher than that suggested by vendor. Hence, a louver of area 2600x2600mm in lieu of 2300x2300 mm suggested by the vendor
