LOS ANGELES - Reality televi-sion star Kim Kardashian is now more than ever the queen of social media, announcing Wednesday that her Instagram account has a record 45 million followers.

45 million Instagram follow-ers!!!!! I love you guys!!!!! Kar-dashian informed those same follow-ers, captioning a selfie of a sidelong smile and copious cleavage.

With that tally, the star of Keeping up with the Kardashians and wife of rapper Kanye West now has more followers than any other Instagram user.

Pop stars Taylor Swift and Be-yonce are close behind at 44.7 million and 44.6 million, respectively, and two other pop stars, Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande, round out the top five. Instagram, acquired by Facebook in 2012, is a platform for users to share photos, with little emphasis on text, a format that may be particularly well-suited to Kardashians particular self-promotion genius.

A photo of newlyweds Kardashian and West kissing at their wedding, posted to her account last year, became the most liked photo on Instagram before being surpassed by

a photo on the account of her younger half-sister, Kendall Jenner, earlier this summer.

Kardashian still has plenty of room for improvement on less photo-centric social media; Katy Perry leads all Twitter users with 74.8 million fol-lowers, while Kardashian has a mere 34.9 million. (afp)

Joseph Kahn said that the video for Wildest Dreams includes black people and was produced by a black woman and edited by a black man.

This is not a video about colonialism but a love story on the set of a period film crew in Africa, 1950, Khan said in a statement Wednesday. There are black Africans in the video in a number of shots, but I rarely cut to crew faces outside of the director as the vast majority of screentime is Taylor and (actor) Scott (Eastwood).

Kahn, who directed Swifts Blank Space and Bad Blood, is Asian.

Wildest Dreams portrays Swift as an actress who falls in love with her co-star on the set. Black actors are seen in some of the clips from a distance.

The reality is not only were there people of color in the video, but the key creatives who worked on this video are

people of color. ...We cast and edited this video. We collectively decided it would have been historically inac-curate to load the crew with more black actors as the video would have been accused of rewriting history, Khan said.

This video is set in the past by a crew set in the pres-ent and we are all proud of our work, he added.

Swift is donating all of the pro-ceeds from the Wildest Dreams video to the African Parks Foundation. The song is the fifth single from her best-selling 1989 album. (ap)

LONDON - Harry Potters fictional son will be among the nervous British children making the move to big school this week, novelist J.K. Rowling has told fans in an announcement that made a generation of loyal readers feel old.

Im in Edinburgh, so could somebody at Kings Cross wish James S Potter good luck for me? Hes start-ing at Hogwarts today. #BackToHogwarts, Potter cre-ator Rowling told her followers in a tweet on Tuesday.

In a second tweet later in the day she said the 11-year-old, who was born in 2004 to Harry and Ginny Potter, had joined Gryffindor, the same house that his father attended at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Scotland.

Have just heard that James S Potter has been Sorted (to nobodys surprise) into Gryffindor, she said.

Thousands of fans reacted, with many echoing one commenter who tweeted: Feeling pretty old.

Rowling has continued to keep fans up to date on the fate of her characters even though the last in the seven-part Harry Potter series came out in 2007.

Last year she resuscitated Harry Potter for the first time, publishing an essay in which he and a group of friends came to Poudlard for a world tournament of quidditch, a sport played on flying broomsticks. At the end of last year, she also published 12 new stories set in the young wizards universe on www.pottermore.com, a website devoted to the series. Harry Potter is one of the biggest global publishing successes, with more than 450 million copies sold. The film versions have also broken records, taking in seven billion dollars at the box office. When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion.

The celebration is very colorful. On Tuedsday (Sep,1), dozens of local residents came out to protest the Governemnt of Balis deci-sion which many consider to be arrogant and not in line with public interest. Members of the local communities and fishermen groups from Prapat Agung Mangening Patasari asserted their disagree-ment about the shutting down of the Mati River project. People consider the whole thing bizarre given that the termination of the normalization of the river and the strengthening the river wall projects occurred without an official letter having been sent first.

We are here very worried. If the project is not continued, it will result in floods in Kuta, Legian, Seminyak and Monang-Maning, said the Head of the Prapat Agung Mangening Patasari Fishermen Group, I Nyoman Sukra.

According to Sukra, the Forestry Agency is a formal institution of the government that should give priority to legal and procedural transparency. In fact the Forestry Agency already knows that the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the RI also supports the restructuring process.

The project is about 50 percent completed, so why didnt they say something from the start? After the project is well underway it is then suddenly stopped midway to completion. This is chaos, whats more signs of the rainy season have already started to emerge and the restructuring process is not finished yet, he explained.

Sukra argued that if the project is stopped, the recommendation of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry will be useless. It should not be complicated because all the restructuring points have been clearly listed therein (in the letter of the Director General of Environment and ForestryEd), he said. This fishermen also mentioned that construction of the long storage basin can be carried out based on suggestions obtained through cooperation with the Bali Forestry Agency and Badung County. We are still waiting for the revi-sion process of the Grand Forest Park management block, he said.

Another community leader of Patasari, Wayan Lendra, also said that he wondered why the project

was suddenly stopped. If people do not feel safe, why was the project stopped? the project is meant to make the community feel safe and comfort-able, he said.

He added that the fight to have the project started was fought well. The minister even came down to monitor the situation. Probably, those who have put a stop to the project have never been down here to see for themselves how people are suffering, we hope that they will come see for themselves, he said.

A former legislator of the Badung House of representatives, I Wayan Puspa Negara, said that the project was designed by Badung County and is aimed at protecting the tourist area form flooding. The rangers appear not to understand that the proj-ect is being developed for the benefit of the public. This action shows the arrogance of this sector that does not understand that the nature of the project is for public interest: the prevention of flooding in the area of Kuta tourist destination, he said.

Negara explained that Kuta is always hit by flood every year because the estuary of the Mati River is clogged by sedimentation. This condi-tion was being addressed by the Badung County because the rainy season is getting near. This project has been stopped, whereas it had every legal right as set forth by the County House and the Regent of Badung as stated in the regional budget for 2015, he said.

Negara expressed his disappointment about the attitude of Balis provincial government that only sees the security of the grand forest park (Tahura) in terms of its own environmental aspect, but has not been able to examine the emergency situation faced by the people of Kuta. In fact, it sounds strange. The rangers areofficers of the government, while the government of Badung County is also an element of government, and so is the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. So, this shows dis-harmony and dilapidation in the taking of action. The government has an obligation to protect and preserve the area and its people from a variety of threats for the sake of a better life, does it not? he concluded. (kmb27)

In the second point of the letter is clearly stated that the development of a long storage basin is necessary and strategic for waste management, flood prevention, and for the general management of the Grand Forest Park. The project needs the support of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Management of the Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park -specifically the Provincial Forestry Agency and the Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park authority to have waste and flood management categorized as a prevention endeavour, aimed at improving the function of Grand Forest Park.

The third point of the letter states that the government of Badung County has imple-mented the normalization of Mati River estu-ary as a regular waste management and flood control activity in the tourist area of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak. On that account, the normalization and long storage development activities in the Mati River estuary should be supported in terms of budget allocation that was provided through the regional budget for 2015.

Point four of the letter asserts that con-sidering that the planned construction site is located in a protection block, the Bali Forestry Service (in this case the Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park) must immediately review the determination of the block of the grand forest park around the Mati River estuary and propose the amendments to Di-rectorate General of Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystem concerning this determination.

Fifthly, with regards to the above men-tioned points, and while waiting for the review process of the Grand Forest Park management block, in our opinion, the con-tinuity of the development operations for the creation of the long storage bassin can be done later through a mechanism of coopera-tion between the Bali Forestry Agency -the Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park authorities, and the government of Badung.

Based on the directives of the Director-ate General of Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystems, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the government of Badung through the Badung Highways and Irrigation (BMP) Agency has made di-rect coordination with the technical service unit of the Grand Forest Park and the Bali Forestry Agency.

There has been direct coordination and they have been advised to ask for permission for the implementation from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry given that the river flow is located in the area of Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park Protection Block. And we have done this said the Head of the Badung Highways and Irrigation Agency, I.B. Surya Suamba, on Monday (Aug. 31).

Currently, the project -aimed at tackling the flood issue, has come to a complete stop

As of the publication of this information, it is still unclear when this project might be resumed because apparently it can only go forward if the area changes status from a protected zone to a utilization zone.

Yes, now we cannot do anything. Origi-nally we wanted to clean up the garbage at the site, but it is not allowed. If this persists I worry that in the next rainy season Kuta will be affected by the same problems of flooding that it has faced in the past, he said.

According to Suamba, the preparation of a long storage bassin has been under consideration for a long time. When A.A. Gde Agung was still the regent of Badung a letter of request had already been sent to the Minister of Environment and Forestry -dated April 20, 2015, concerning the construction of cliff reinforcements and revetment in the Mati River estuary based on the suggestion of the Bali Forestry Agency.

In essence, in the letter mentions that the long storage development is deemed necessary and strategic for the management of garbage for flood prevention and for the management of the Grand Forest Park and so the project needs the support from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry as well as the support of the management of the Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park under the the Bali Forestry Agency and the Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park authorities themselves because waste and flood management fall under the responsibility of the park manage-ment to the function of Grand Forest Park, said Surya Suamba.

Acting Regent of Badung, I Nyoman Harry Yudha Saka, admitted that he had prepared a letter of petition for Governor that will also be submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in order for a zoning change to be made. Saka hopes that the zoning of the area can be changed from from a protection zone to a utilization zone. For now the project has been stopped. On that account, the government of Badung is attempting to change the zoning because the Mati River is also plays an important role in flood prevention -not commercial activities, but saving the environment and preserving the mangroves located there, he said.

Interestingly, the Governor of Bali during a working visit to Badung, claimed not know anything about the issue. I do not know it exactly, its a technical matter, said Gover-nor of Bali, I Made Mangku Pastika.

As many people know, the project, worth around IDR 47 billion, funded by regional budget of Badung 2015 has been underway since 2013. The project was of-ficially stopped on Saturday (Aug. 29) at approximately at 11:00 a.m. when dozens of rangers from the Bali Forestry Agency came to the location and ordered the project to be stopped and then proceeded to guard the area. (kmb27)

Besides, holding Bali Interfood 2015, there are sev-eral other exhibitions being held in the same venue, such as Bali Hotel & Tourism, Bali Coffee Expo, Bali Allpack, Bali Wine & Spirits, and Bali Seafood Expo 2015.

According to Balis Chairman of Hotel and Restau-rants Association (PHRI) Tjok Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, food is an important part of the tourism industry.

SUkawati said that culinary specialties can be pack-aged as one of Bali tourisms selling points. At present, the culinary world already has a niche market. Through various media, public interest in food AKA foodies are increasing world wide, he said.

The man who is familiarly called Cok Ace said, that in Indonesias tourism, especially in Bali, culinary specialties are becoming one of the attractions that certainly provide added value in promoting a tourism object. Culinary specialties are also being promoted and introduced to society through various events such as food festivals.

One such event is Interfood Hotel & Tourism Bali, and one of its goals is to actively participate in introducing and enriching the diversity of tourist attractions through the world of cook-ing, especially in the hospitality and tourism industry, he said.

For this reason, he said, PHRI Bali as an association of hotels and restaurants, gives appreciation and support to the implementa-tion of this event thats being organized for the second time.

This event will be an effective method of promoting tourism and is also a way to maintain the traditional cultural heritage of food that could become a main attraction in the world of tourism, he said.

President Director of Kristamedia, David D. Salim, said that tourism in Bali will not be complete without a culinary industry. Without food and beverage, Balis tourism is incomplete. When tourists come here, they do not only remember the natural scenery but also local culinary products. Besides being famous for various local foods, Bali also produces internationally renowned wine. Through this event we are hoping that people and hoteliers become more familiar with the food and beverages products from their own country, he mentioned.

David stated that he also collaborated with several associations such as the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia, Indonesian Sommelier Association for this event. This exhibition presents participants from hotels and restaurants, as well as hundreds of other companies from home and abroad.

This event is expected to push Indone-sias food and beverage business forward especially Bali, he said.

The food exhibition was also enlivened by a cooking contest organized by the Indonesian chef Association (ICA). (kmb27)

    N. Biren Singh, a ruling Con-gress party lawmaker, said the state government blocked wireless Internet and text messaging ser-vices on Wednesday to stop rumors from provoking people to take to the streets and commit arson. The violence erupted on Monday after the state legislature approved new legislation defining who can claim to be from Manipur. Rioters set fire to the homes of nine lawmakers during a rampage.

One person who was trapped in a burning house died, and three people died when police fired to disperse the arsonists on Monday. Another three people were killed on Tuesday when police fired at hundreds of people angry about the deaths circled the towns police station.

On Wednesday, state authorities imposed an indefinite curfew in Churachanpur town after protest-ers set a government office on fire. The town is 70 kilometers (40 miles) southwest of Imphal, the state capital. Activist Chitra Ah-anthem criticized the suspension of Internet services and said it was hurting flood relief after monsoon rains forced thousands of people into shelters in the northeast. I cant believe we have limited or no Internet access in the state of 2.5 million people. I am involved in flood relief operations in the state and my work is getting badly affected, she said.

Lawmaker Singh said the law demanding people prove that their families lived in Manipur before 1951 is aimed at keeping outsid-

ers, including migrants, from settling in the state bordering Myanmar. But Singh said authori-ties had no plans to begin checking documents soon.

The protesters fear the authori-ties might exclude people who ar-rived legitimately after that date or who dont have proper documents. The area has a mix of Kuki, Zomi, Naga and other tribes.

On Thursday, the United Naga Council, an umbrella group of the Naga population in Manipur state, announced a 48-hour blockade of the highway protesting another resolution adopted by the state legislature earlier this week that opposes a division of Manipur if the Indian government signed a peace deal with a frontline Naga insurgent group.

The Indian government is of-fering wide autonomy to Naga insurgent groups and says it cannot redraw state borders to allow all the Nagas to live together in one state. The Nagas mainly inhabit three northeastern states. (ap)

GUATEMALA CITY Gua-temalan President Otto Perez Molina has resigned in the face of a corruption scandal that has brought his government to the brink, a spokesman said early Thursday.

Spokesman Jorge Ortega said Perez Molina submitted his res-ignation at midnight Wednesday local time after a judge issued an order to detain him in the customs fraud case, which already has led to the jailing of his vice president, and the resignation of several cabinet ministers who withdrew their support for the president.

His resignation, the first by a Guatemalan president, is not ef-fective until Congress accepts it and names a new president. They were to convene early Thursday morning to do so.

Protesters, business leaders and even Catholic church officials have called for Perez Molina to resign in recent weeks as the in-vestigation of the customs fraud ring has grown wider and hit more officials. Perez Molina was steadfast in his plan to stay until the judges unprecedented order, dealing the most serious blow yet to entrenched political corruption in the Central American country.

    Ortega told reporters that in

the end, Perez Molina submit-ted his resignation to maintain the institution of the presidency and resolve on his own the legal proceedings leveled against him. Perez Molina, 64, has maintained his innocence.

Vice President Alejandro Mal-donado is constitutionally in line to assume the presidency. Mal-donado, a conservative lawyer and former Constitutional Court judge, was chosen to replace former Vice President Roxana Baldetti, who resigned May 8 due to the same scandal and is now jailed and facing charges. She too maintains her innocence.

Maldonado would likely re-main in office until the winner of upcoming elections is inaugurated Jan. 14, 2016.

The countrys reaction was initially quiet as the news played out in the middle of the night.

The order to detain Perez Molina is not for his arrest, rath-er to for him to declare before Judge Miguel Angel Galvea, who granted the request Wednesday from Attorney General Thelma Aldana.

The president will have to appear on accusations of illicit association, fraud and receiving bribe money. (ap)

Internet blocked in northeast Indian state to quell violence

GAUHATI Naga protesters on Thursday blocked a key highway and authorities shut down wireless Internet services to quell heighten-ing tension in a northeast Indian state where seven people have died in violence this week. The protesters cut trees and moved boulders to stop trucks, buses and cars on the highway linking Manipur state with the rest of India, paralyzing normal life in the area.

DENPASAR - On Wednesday (Sep. 2), a 24 year woman from China, named Lin Jia Ling, who was allegedly involved in a criminal case based on the possession of of 0.60 gram of crystal meth was sentenced to five years in prison, a fine of IDR 1 billion and a subsidiary of six months in prison, Wednesday (Sep. 2).

Prosecutor Purwanti before the leading judge Beslin Sihombing stated that the defendant with the status a a widow and mother of two, was found guilty under Article 113 paragraph (1) of the Law No. 35/2009 on narcotics. The defendant is said to have brought in drugs into the customs territory of Indonesia without permission from the authorities.

The defendant, through her legal counsel, will make plea against the charges in a subsequent court session. Previously, the prosecutor in her indictment said that Lin Jia Ling -an employee of beauty salon in Taiwan was arrested by customs officers shortly after getting off the plane. She was arrested after passing through the international arrival terminal of the Ngurah Rai Airport off a China Airlines flight CI771 from Taiwan on Monday (May 4, 2015).

At that time, the officers found a plastic clip of 0.88grams gross or 0.60 grams net of crystal meth, containing a plastic straw and a plastic clip with crystal clear objects. It was found inside the black bra that the defendant Lin Jia Ling was wearing. (kmb37)

The completion of Agus Tays file was con-firmed by Section Head of the Denpasar Prosecu-tors Office General Crime, Ketut Maha Agung, onWednesday (Sep. 2). Before it was declared complete, the researching prosecutor conducted a case expos. From this case expos is said that investigating police have completed the instruc-tions given in the P-19. The file is complete and we declare it P-21, he explained.

The defendant Agus Tay is being charged for the criminal act of persecution that caused the death of the child. as referred to in Article 340 of the Criminal Code (the primary), a subsidiary of Article 338 of the Criminal Code, more subsidiary of article 353 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, more and more subsidiary of Article 351 para-graph 3 of the Criminal Code and Article 76 C in conjunction with Article 80 paragraph 1 and 3 of Law No. 35/2014 on the amendments to the Law No.23/2002 on the protection of children.

In a file sent by police authorities it is stated that 26 witnesses were examined in this case in-cluding Margriet Ch. Megawe (the defendant in a separate file). But, Maha Agung said that in the file Margriet did not give any details at all. It is the right of the defendant he said.

When asked about the instructions com-pleted by police investigators, Maha Agung said that one of them was to investigate the role of Augustinus under Article 340 related to the murder. The file declares that Augustinus had made a hole in ground behind the house before Engeline was eventually found dead and buried in the hole. Later on, we will prove it in court, he explained.

Previously, the legal counsel of Agus Tay, Haposan Sihombing, said that to his knowledge it is indeed true that the detention period will end on September 10, because the detention of 60 days extended to 30 days will end. Actually it us clear. In our opinion, my client Agus Tay, and based on the testimony of Agus to us and to the investigator, the role of Agus has been very clear, namely that he helped Mrs. MM (MargrietEd) remove and bury Engeline on May 16, called Haposan.

Thus, he said that the prosecutor and police just need to hand over the file and the suspect. It has been very clear. It should have been P21 (complete) because the detention period is more than 60 days and extended as long as 30 days, meaning that only a week remains of his detention period, he said. (kmb27)

SINGAPORE - Oil prices fell in Asia Thursday following a mixed US petroleum report that showed an increase in reserves but a dip in production.

US benchmark West Texas In-termediate for October delivery fell 14 cents to $46.11 while Brent crude for October slipped 10 cents to $50.40 in afternoon trade.

Prices turned sharply lower Tuesday and have been edging down after weak manufacturing data from China and the United States clouded the outlook for demand growth in the two biggest energy consumers. They had surged more than 25 percent over the three days before that.

On Wednesday the US Depart-ment of Energys petroleum report for the week to August 28 showed commercial crude stocks rose 4.7 million barrels to 455.4 million barrels, sitting near eight-decade highs.

The increase was much bigger than the 900,000 barrels on aver-age expected surveyed by experts Bloomberg News.

Crude output, however, fell 119,000 barrels to 9.22 million a day. Gasoline inventories fell 300,000 barrels to 214.2 million.

Sanjeev Gupta, head of the Asia-Pacific oil and gas practice at business consultancy firm EY, said the global supply-demand imbal-ance remains in focus following the release of the latest US energy report.

Dealers had been hoping that an uptick in US demand, coupled with a slowdown in output, could whittle down the huge global supplies that were a key reason for the collapse in prices from around $120 in June last year.

Gupta said worries that the US Federal Reserve will raise rates at the next policy meeting in Sep-tember also weighed down market sentiment.

The US nonfarm payrolls (data) to be released tomorrow is likely to offer some vital clues about the Feds plans, he added.

A rate rise will boost the green-back, making dollar-priced oil more expensive to holders of weaker cur-rencies, hurting demand and helping push crude prices lower. (afp)

In an assessment of threats published as top finance ministers and central bankers meet this week in Turkey, the IMF warned that the prob-lems could lead to a much weaker outlook for global growth.

It urged wealthy countries to continue easy-money policies and growth friendly tax and spending programs. Some emerging-market countries, meanwhile, should let their currencies fall substantially to support their exporters and economic growth, while also enacting reforms to make their economies more efficient, it added.

The Chinese economic slowdown, though long anticipated, appears to have larger-than-previously-envisaged repercussions in other countries, the IMF said. Chinas troubles have sent the prices of raw materials such as oil and copper into a freefall, pinching Brazil, Russia and other commodity exporters.

The report did not revise the funds eco-nomic forecasts for this year, last updated in July, though it concluded that downside risks

have risen. The IMF expects the global economy to

grow 3.3 percent this year, little-changed from 3.4 percent in 2014; the U.S. economy to grow 2.5 percent, versus 2.4 percent in 2014; the 19-country eurozone to grow 1.5 percent, nearly double 2014s 0.8 percent; and China to grow 6.8 percent, down from 7.4 percent last year.

Some economists expect Chinese growth to decelerate even more to below 6 percent. The Chinese stock market has been falling since mid-June, and on Aug. 11 Chinese authorities unexpectedly devalued Chinas currency, the yuan. They said they were re-sponding to signals from investors that the currency was overvalued. But skeptics feared it was a desperation move to give Chinese exporters a competitive advantage and a sign the economy was weaker than anybody realized.

In an interview with CNBC Wednesday, U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew warned

China against manipulating its currency to give its exporters an unfair advantage. We are going to hold them accountable, he said.

The IMF is also worried about the potential fallout if the U.S. Federal Reserve decides this year to raise the short-term interest rate it controls, pinned near zero for seven years. Higher U.S. rates would likely lure invest-ment out of emerging markets to America and drive up the value of the U.S. dollar. That could shake up global markets. It could also squeeze emerging-market companies that have borrowed in U.S. dollars and would have to scrounge up more money in their local curren-cies to meet the payments.

In June, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde advised the Fed to delay a rate hike until 2016. She argued that the risk of raising rates prematurely and damaging the U.S. and global economies outweighed the risk of waiting too long and allowing inflation to creep up.

Gymnastics is centered on the mind whereas soul processing is able to maintain

an ideal body shape through the exercise of concentration, he said.

The Head of the Bangli Culture and Tourism Agency, I Wayan Adnyana, said on Wednesday (Sep. 2) that the presence of artifacts in Bangli County is in fact very much. Evidently, based on data collection for 2013 there are a total of 612 archaeo-logical sites in Kintamani subdistrict, 280 sites in Tembuku subdistrict, 260 sites in Bangli subdistrict and 114 sites in Susut subdistrict. Sites found in temple areas are still in quite good conditions because they are well maintained. These sites are mostly located at temples and some of them have been included as cultural heritage sites. They are still in very good condition, he explained.

He also added that the inventory process is being assisted by a team from the Institute of Bali Archaeology and Cultural Heritage. Adnyana revealed that objects that have been found include such things as statues, bracelets, palm-leaf manuscript and cliff temples. Cliff temple, are most widely found in Tembuku like the one at Tambahan and surrounding areas. Other than serving as a form of preservation, this inventory is being taken so as to eventually promote cultural tourism in Bangli. At present, Bangli is mostly known for is nature tourism. Once the data collection is complete, we hope that Bangli can become a cultural tourism area, he added.

Apart from the Culture and Tourism Of-fice, previously the Bangli Library, Archives and Documentation Office also performed a biographical search of the local heroes scattered throughout the subdistricts. How-ever, it did not involve a team of experts. The search was intended to re-construct the stories of local heroes so that these could be used for educational purposes. (kmb45)

The increased commitment by one of the worlds largest greenhouse gas emitters will be officially submitted to the United Nations later this month ahead of a major climate change summit in December.

We have reached the decision to reduce (emissions) by 29 percent by 2030, environment and forestry minis-ter Siti Nurbaya Bakar told reporters.

The pledge goes beyond Indonesias 2009 agreement to slash emissions by 26 percent -- or 41 percent with inter-national assistance -- by 2020.

The final draft submission states Indonesia has set aside 12.7 million hectares (31.4 million acres) of for-est for conservation to help realise its target. The government also hopes to derive nearly a quarter of its vast energy needs from renewable sources within

    a decade.Beyond 2020, Indonesia envisions

an even bolder commitment to emission reductions, said the draft submission distributed by the ministry.

Indonesia, along with several other emissions-intensive economies, had been under pressure to submit its tar-get before the UN climate summit in Paris.

The Indonesia baseline uses the business as usual scenario of emission projections starting in 2010, based on historical trajectory (2000-2010), pro-jected increases in the energy sector, and the absence of mitigation actions, the submission says.

It is hoped that a new pact to cut global emissions applicable to all countries will be hammered out at the long-awaited conference. (afp)

JAKARTA - A second Australian in little more than a week has died during a surf trip to Indonesias famed Mentawai Islands, police confirmed Thursday.

Adam Albert Dube was found dead on Wednesday morning after vanishing during an ocean swim with friends the night before.

Mentawai police chief Reko Indro Sasongko said the group of 10 arrived at the popular surf spot off the west coast of Sumatra island late Tuesday.

After drinking aboard their boat, they decided around midnight to go for a swim, Sasongko said.

After an hour they returned to the boat, but only nine showed up. Dube was not there, he told AFP.

A search ensued for the missing Australian but he wasnt found until Wednesday morning. His body was

taken immediately to Padang city on Sumatra island, Sasongko said.

His death comes shortly after an-other Australian, 54-year-old Ronald Stephen Schneider, was killed after being smashed onto rocks in heavy surf at the Mentawais last week.

The world famous reef breaks off the Sumatra coast are a mecca for surf-ers, especially Australians, seeking its fabled barreling waves.

Sasongko said police had been warning visiting surfers to be extra vigilant during the dry season months, when wave sizes peak and conditions are particularly dangerous.

Not only are the currents strong and the waves large, but there are many whirlpools that cannot be seen when in the water but are noticeable from above, he said.

JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia and Tour-ism Australia have signed renewal of coopera-tion agreement in promoting market.

Garuda Indonesia Commercial Director Handayani said on Thursday under the agree-ment, Garuda Indonesia and Tourism Austra-lia would promote Garuda flight service from and to various destinations in Australia such as Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Handayani and Regional Gen-eral Manager South/ South East Asia & Gulf Countries of Tourism Australia, Michael Newcombe. The agreement is an extension of one signed earlier in 2014 between the two sides.

Handayani said she hoped the cooperation would increase the load factor of the airline from and to Australia.

Australia is a potential market for Garuda which has a market share of 27.7 percent in the Indonesia-Australia routes this year, she said.

With the geographical proximity between Indonesia and Australia there are many trav-elers between the two countries including tourists, business people, students and those crossing the border for medical treatment. Garuda could also offer service for travelers

using the Kangaroo Road, Handayani said. Kangaroo Road is a connecting flight from

Australia to Amsterdam and London. Meanwhile, Regional General Manager

South/ South East Asia & Gulf Countries of Tourism Australia Michael Newcombe said Indonesia is one of its fastest growing markets.

Hopefully the cooperation would sustain cooperation already exists between the two countries, Newcombe said.

Currently Garuda Indonesia serves 33 direct flights from and to Australia per week from Jakarta and Denpasar to Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

Flights from Denpasar to Melbourne, Syd-ney and Perth are served every day and from Jakarta to Melbourne, Sydney and Perth four times a week.

Garuda is seeking similar cooperation agreement with tourism agencies in other country before the visa free travel offered to 47 more countries in October bringing the number of countries to 92 from which visitors to Indonesia would no longer need visa.

The facility is already offered to travelers from 45 countries. It is expected to increase the load factor of Garuda inbound and out-bound. (ant)

Garuda-Tourism Australia cooperate in promoting marketThe Turkish Embassy said in a

statement that it has not received confirmation from Thai authori-ties about the nationalities of the suspects. Thai authorities have sug-gested that at least two of the eight suspects are possibly Turkish.

The Turkish connection has boosted a theory the suspects may be part of a group seeking to avenge Thailands forced repatriation of more than 100 ethnic Uighurs to China in July. Thailand is believed to be a transit stop for Chinese Uighurs attempting to go to Turkey.

Uighurs (pronounced WEE-gurs) are related to Turks, and Turkey is home to a large Uighur community. The bombed site, the Erawan Shrine, is especially popular with Chinese tourists, feeding the speculation that it could have been targeted by people who believe the Uighurs are oppressed by Chinas government.

China has alleged that among the Uighurs who were repatriated were some who intended to join Islamic State fighters in Syria.

In another finding that could sup-port a link to Uighurs, police said Thursday that a man arrested Tues-

day who is considered a main suspect in the bombing was carrying a Chi-nese passport. The passport indicated he was from the western region of Xinjiang, but Thai authorities had not yet verified its authenticity, said national police spokesman Prawut Thavornsiri. The region of Xinjiang in western China is the home of the Turkish-speaking Uighurs.

Authorities on Thursday identi-fied the suspect as Jusufu Meeraili, and said he faces charges of possess-ing unauthorized explosives. Police said they found his fingerprints on a bottle of bomb-making material recovered from an apartment that was raided over the weekend.

The other suspects include a Thai woman said to be married to a Turk-ish man. Both are being sought by Thai police.

In interviews with Thai media, the woman said she was innocent. She also said she was living in Turkey.

Thai authorities have been care-ful not to state publicly that the case may be linked to the Uighurs. They have said that such speculation could affect international relations

and hurt tourism. We have agreed already that I

wont mention the name of a coun-try, the name of a group or their religion. Please allow me to say that it is a network, and lets wait and see which group it is, Thai national po-lice spokesman Prawut Thavornsiri said Thursday, when asked if the case was linked to Uighurs.

Thai security officials have sug-gested the suspects are part of a hu-man trafficking ring with a grudge against Thailand. However, Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, known for his outspokenness, has stretched the theory to acknowledge it could have been a gang involved in smuggling Uighurs out of China.

The embassy statement high-lighted the confusion surround-ing the ongoing investigation. It quoted the Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman in Ankara pointing out Thai press reports saying that Meeraili, who was detained near the Thai-Cambodian border, had a Chinese passport and that the first suspect, arrested in the raid on the Bangkok apartment, had a fake Turkish passport. GENEVA More than 2,000 Syrians have drowned in the Mediterranean while trying to reach Europe since 2011, a U.N. panel reported Thursday, saying theres no end in sight to Syrias civil war.

In its 10th such report since the war began 4-1/2 years ago, the U.N. Human Rights Council urges the international commu-nity to help Syrian civilians.

The global failure to protect Syrian refugees is now translating into a crisis in southern Europe, the report says, alluding to the increased flow in recent months. Overall, it offers few new insights into a grinding civil war.

Civilians are suffering the unimaginable as the world stands witness, said panel chair Paulo Sergio Pinheiro.

The report, which calls for ur-gent action by the international

community to protect civilians, is based on 335 interviews with victims and witnesses collected from January to July 2015. The report is to be presented to the Human Rights Council meeting on Sept. 21.

It says warring factions have used tactics like encircling popu-lated areas that have caused starvation, malnutri t ion and chronic illness among besieged residents.

The report highlights abuses by many combatants including President Bashar Assads forces, the Islamic State group and al-Qaida-backed Nusra Front.

It says Islamic State fighters have adopted new tactics such as hit-and-run attacks and suicide car-bombings following battle-field losses to Kurdish fighters backed by U.S.-led coalition air power. (ap)

MONROVIA The World Health Organization says Liberia has been declared free of Ebola transmissions and will be under heightened surveillance for 90 days.

More than 4,800 people died in Liberia of Ebola before the

country was first declared free from transmissions on May 9. Then a post-mortem sample from a 17-year-old who died on June 28 came back positive for Ebola. Five more cases were confirmed, including one more death from Ebola.

SEMARAPURA - Tihingan village is one of the villages in Banjarangkan subdistrict, Klung-kung being renowned as the central producer of traditional gamelan musical instrument. On that ac-

count, the buyer or gamelan players from various regions in Bali, even outside the region, often come to this central producer of gamelan in Bali.

The village was inhabited by 174

households with a population of 832 people. Of that number, about 90 percent was gamelan craftsman. The rest had profession as farmer, trader, carpenter, civil servant and police. Therefore, the majority

of people chose to work at their home village rather than outside the area.

The profession of making gamelan instrument is carried out through generations. In general

there are two groups of gamelan ar-tisan, namely the group in charge of making and forming various kinds of gamelan instruments and those being competent in calibrating the gamelan tones.

World number one Djokovic, who lost only three games in his opening-round victory, led 5-4 in an indifferent first set that went with serve before suddenly snapping into focus to break the Austrian to love.

Flicking winners off his fore-hand and burying backhands deep into corners, the Serb dropped only three more games as he sailed to victory and a place in the third round.

The reigning Australian and Wimbledon champion registered 27 winners and did not face a single break point in his demolition of 28-year-old Haider-Maurer, a winner of nine career Challenger titles but none on the ATP World

Tour. Djokovic gave Haider-Mau-rer credit for bringing a blistering first serve.

I think he had an average serve of 130 miles per hour, so he came out firing from that shot in his game, said the top seed.

All in all, it was good to not stay too long on the court and get the job done in three sets, added Djokovic, who had enough energy left to dance on court with an en-tertainer who amps up the crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium during changeovers.

Djokovic is trying to claim his third grand slam singles title of the year and the 28-year-old Serb could not be blamed for thinking he is due for another U.S. title to add to his

    2011 trophy.Four other times (2013, 2012,

2010, 2007) he has been runner-up at Flushing Meadows and reached the semi-finals three other times. For one reason or another I wasnt able to make that final step, too many times, he said.

But looking at the results over the years, it has been one of the most consistent tournaments Ive had. Ever since 2007 finals, Ive been making semis each year, so this definitely is in back of my mind. Whenever I come here, I know that conditions suit me well, that I feel good on the court. I play very good tennis. I obviously try each year to get myself in a posi-tion to fight for the trophy. Thats no different this year.

Djokovic next plays Italys An-dreas Seppi, a 3-6 6-3 7-6(3) 6-1 winner against Russian Teymuraz Gabashvili. (rtr)

MADRID Chris Froome has pulled out of the Spanish Vuelta after fracturing a bone in his foot.

The two-time Tour de France champion and two-time Vuel-ta runner-up said on his Twit-ter account that the navicular bone in his foot was fractured, adding, End of the Vuelta for me.

    Froome, who had been hoping

to win the Vuelta after winning this years Tour de France, fell early in Wednesdays 11th stage and looked to be in pain for the rest of the tough mountainous ride, although he managed to finish.

The Team Sky rider was 15th overall, 7 minutes, 30 seconds behind race leader Fabio Aru. The 30-year-old Froome won his second Tour title in July. (ap)

MONZA Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas will pair for a third consecutive season as Wil-liams Formula One drivers, the team announced Thursday. Massa and Bottas currently sit fifth and sixth, respectively, in the drivers standings.

There had been speculation that Ferrari was interested in Bottas but that ended when Kimi Raik-konen renewed his contract with the Italian team two weeks ago.

Stability is key for any team to thrive in Formula One, so to be able to enter a third season with one of the strongest driver lineups on the grid puts Williams in a fantastic position to continue its momentum towards the front of the grid in 2016, team principal Frank Williams said.

Massa, a 34-year-old from Bra-zil, joined Williams from Ferrari in 2014 and has had one pole and

four podiums with the team.(Williams) respect me a lot

and the results are there, Massa said. It has been so nice to be part of the big turnaround the team has seen since the end of 2013. I cant wait to carry on and continue pushing even more for the team, and for myself.

Bottas, a 26-year-old from Finland, had seven podiums over the last two seasons after coming through the teams development program.

I believe we can achieve even stronger results than what we have seen so far, Bottas said. I cant wait for 2016, however I am still fully focused on this season as we still have plenty of challenges to achieve.

In the constructors standings, Williams is third behind Mercedes and Ferrari entering this week-ends Italian Grand Prix. (ap)

Nigeria also has a new coach as former player Sunday Oliseh takes charge against Tanzania. Ghana, after a 7-1 win over Mauritius in the first round, travels to Rwanda. Unimpressive in a scrambling 1-0 victory over Mauritania in its first group qualifier, Cameroon is away at Gambia.

Ivory Coast is starting its cam-paign late after playing its first game against 2017 tournament host Gabon, which has been in-cluded in the qualifying competi-tion but whose games dont count toward the group standings.

Dussuyer took over from the 2015 African Cup-winning coach Herve Renard and spent his first few months in the job gauging whether the 32-year-old Toure will continue. Dussuyer recently flew to London for talks with the Manchester City midfielder, who is still to decide if he wants to keep playing for his country.

The French coach also has problems with other stars. Striker Wilfried Bony is injured, while Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote is not part of this squad after team management couldnt contact him.

The game was moved to Port Harcourt in southern Nigeria because of the lingering effect of the Ebola outbreak in Sierra

Leone. It was initially scheduled for Lagos, but Sierra Leone made a late change, forcing the Ivori-ans to alter their plans and take a chartered plane down to the Niger Delta.

Ex-midfielder Oliseh has the task of developing some consis-tency from Nigeria, which won the 2013 African Cup and then failed to qualify for this years tournament. There is no place for Chelseas John Obi Mikel in Olisehs first squad. Nigeria sits second to Egypt in Group G ahead of its trip to Tanzania. Egypt is away at Chad.

Four days before its quali-fier in Rwanda, Ghana played a game against Republic of Congo in Brazzaville to open the new stadium that will be used for the All Africa Games starting this week. Jordan Ayew scored late in Ghanas 3-2 win on Tuesday. But there may be some tired players when Avram Grants team, which lost the 2015 African Cup final to Ivory Coast, gets to Kigali.

Cameroon leads Group M ahead of South Africa, but only after Vincent Aboubakar rescued it with an 89th-minute winner at home to minnow Mauritania back in June. Cameroon has what should be another easy game against Gambia, while the

    South Africans must make the long trip to Mauritania. The 13 group winners and two best second-placed teams will qualify for the 2017 Cup of N a t i o n s t o j o i n h o s t G a - bon.

MADRID - With an unprec-edented number of Spain inter-nationals plying their trade in the Premier League, coach Vicente del Bosque will be relying more than ever on players based outside La Liga in Saturdays Euro 2016 qualifier at home to Slovakia.

Pedro became the lat-est to cross the English Channel when he signed for Chelsea from Barce-lona last month, joining

fellow forward Diego Costa, midfielders Cesc Fabregas, Da-

v i d Silva, Juan Mata a n d Santi Cazorla, de-fender Cesar Azpilicueta and goalkeeper David De Gea in the worlds richest league.

Of those, only Costa and Silva are likely to start the game in Oviedo, when a home victory would put Spain level with the sur-prise Group C leaders, who beat them 2-1 in Zilina in October, on 18 points from seven matches.

However, De l Bosque will almost certainly deploy at least one of Pedro, Fabregas or Mata off the bench, espe-cially if things are not going Spains way, as all three are capable of breaking through the kind of

stubborn defences the 2010 world champions typically face.

Spain have so far been uncon-vincing in qualifying for next years tournament in France, when they will be chasing a third straight European triumph after successes in 2008 and 2012. They still appear to be recovering from their woeful title defence at the World Cup in Brazil last year, after which stal-warts like Xavi and Xabi Alonso stepped down.

What happened in Brazil re-mains a thorn in the side for those of us who were there, Mata told a news conference on Wednesday. This generation has the ability to achieve things, added the Man-chester United midfielder.

We can do things very well and we want to continue the national teams good run at the European level.

Slovakia will be missing sev-eral players through injury or suspension, including defender and captain Martin Skrtel, who is unavailable after picking up a yel-low card in Junes 2-1 win against Macedonia.

Spain have not been beaten at home in qualifying for a major tournament in 30 matches span-ning more than a decade, their last reverse coming against Greece in June 2003.

Coach Jan Kozak nonetheless believes his team is capable of get-ting at least a point from the trip to the Asturian capital.

Were going to put out a com-petitive side against Spain, a side that will fight for a result, he said this week. (rtr)

SEOUL, South Korea South Korean billionaire Chung Mong-joon has accused the Asian Football Confederation of breaking electoral and ethical rules by lobbying for rival candidate Michel Platini in the upcoming FIFA presidential election.

In a news conference in Seoul on Thursday, Chung said that the AFC has been sending letters to officials of member federations urg-ing them to vote for the Frenchman on Feb. 26.

It is an obvious case of election fraud infringing on the basic rights of other presidential candidates, said Chung, who had forwarded copies of the letters to the chairmen of FIFAs electoral committee and ethics committee.

The letter revealed by Chung was titled Proposal and support of the candidature of Mr. MP for the office of FIFA President.

It ended with a sentence that read: Finally, just for good order, we wish to confirm that the (IN-SERT NAME ASSOCIATION) is supporting only Mr. MP and, ac-cordingly, we did not sign any other declaration of support for another candidate for the office of the FIFA President. The letters were ad-dressed to FIFAs secretary general Jerome Valcke.

Chung argued that the initials MP referred to Platini and that the letter was designed as a form

FRANKFURT Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Marco Reus has been ruled out of Germanys European Champion-ship qualifiers against Poland and Scotland after breaking his big toe in his left foot.

The German Football Fed-eration says Reus suffered the injury while playing for Dort-

mund against Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

Reus traveled Wednesday to meet his national teammates in Frankfurt, where the injury was diagnosed. Treatment will be car-ried out by Dortmund.

The 26-year-old was ruled out of Germanys 2014 World Cup-winning campaign with a left

ankle injury sustained in the last friendly before the tournament, and suffered two more ankle inju-ries after making his comeback.

Reus made just 20 league appearances for Dortmund last season. Germany hosts Poland in Frankfurt on Friday before playing Scotland in Glasgow on Monday. (ap)

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic is thrilled with the business done by the Hammers on transfer deadline day after the Croatian welcomed four new faces to the club on Tuesday.

Alex Song, Victor Moses, Ni-kica Jelavic and Michail Antonio were all brought in on a busy day of activity for the Hammers, with Matt Jarvis loan move to Nor-

wich City the only departure.I think weve done a good job

-- thats what we wanted and it looks like the last day was a hec-tic day, but really the deals were done a few days ago and we just needed the papers (finalised), the 46-year-old Bilic told the clubs website(www.whufc.com).

We knew from the start what we wanted and for a few players

we waited until the end because it was impossible to get them done earlier because of their clubs.

But we were patient and we said wed wait until the last day and have a back-up if necessary, the former Croatia manager added.

Nigeria international Moses, who joined on loan from cham-pions Chelsea, admitted he was impressed with the clubs counter-

attacking style in their away vic-tories at Arsenal and Liverpool.

Its not just been the way they have played that has impressed me, but its been the hard work as well, the pacy 24-year-old, who signed a four-year contract with Chelsea prior to the switch, said.

You can tell everyone is fight-ing for each other and it was a great result at Arsenal and then at

Liverpool at the weekend.I love playing counter-at-

tacking football and this club has definitely got it here and it will definitely suit my game.

Weve got a good quality of players up front and the wingers are quick, so if we can get it go-ing on the counter-attack, we can really be a threat as a team, he added. (rtr)

ROME Former England de-fender Ashley Cole has been left off Romas squad for the Champions League and appears to be on his way out of the Serie A club.

The 34-year-old Cole joined Roma a year ago on a two-year deal but fell out of favor after only a few

months. He was not in the squad for Romas opening two matches this season and on Wednesday, Cole wasnt even listed on Romas website as one of its players.

South Korean FIFA presidential candidate Chung Mong-joon pauses to answer questions during a news conference in Seoul, South Korea, Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015.

Chung says AFC broke election rules ahead of FIFA vote

for federations to fill out to express their support for Platini. He said the letter was sent to the offices of all AFC member states except for South Korea and Jordan, the home countries of rival candidates Chung and Prince Ali bin Hussein.

There was no immediate re-sponse by the AFC to Chungs accusations. A spokeswoman said the confederation was assessing his comments.

The upcoming election will replace current chief Sepp Blatter, who announced his departure amid

mounting pressure to reform after widespread allegations of corrup-tion within FIFA ranks.

Chung, the billionaire scion of the Hyundai business group, was a FIFA vice president for 17 years and was once considered a candidate to succeed Blatter before losing his seat in 2011. He was a key figure in helping South Korea land the right to co-host the 2002 World Cup with Japan, has been a longtime critic of Blatter, whom he described as a dictatorial little brat in a memoir published in 2011.
