SERC PHOTOGRAPHICS - 3 FASHION EDITORIALS, SHOTS OF ISLAND ART CENTRE CLASS & EDITORIAL DESIGN

Page 2: Editorials

I plan on creating editorials inside and outside of the studio, I will use different lighting techiniques and editing techniques to give each of my editorials a different feel.

Shoot One: I plan to do a shoot with Laura with the theme focusing on carving out the facial structure; I want to accentuate bone structure and facial composition and give very strong, harsh and dynamic portraits which will catch the viewers’ atten-tion. I plan to use studio lighting to achieve the severity of the light I will need.

Shoot Two: I plan to do a shoot with Moichael with the theme focusing on cool col-ours, I want to bring out blues and greens and incredibly muted tones and diffuse skin to create an almost stark feeling. I want the images to be reminiscent of Rus-sian military photographs. I want to use harsh straight lines to give a rigid feeling to the pictures and create an almost bleak backdrop.

Shoot Three: I plan to do a background and cover shoot which will be self-por-trait. I want to follow the theme of dark and flowing images. I think these will lend themselves for my other images to sit on top of. I want to create slickness and con-trast in colour to my other images by using warmer tones like reds, oranges and browns and plan to create the flowing effect my using curved lines in the content of the images.

Shoot Four: I want to use the theme of Catholicism and explore it through self-portraits. I want to experiment with different levels of the body being shown in the images and I want to create an eerie feeling through religious iconography.Shoot Five: I want to follow the theme shoot of Carl from the hairdressing class and carve out the structure of his face, unlike Shoot One, I plan to use a different colour palate and to also try and give dimension to the hair and face through edit-ing.
