Glioma Tumors and ipsilateral exposure

Glioma is a type of tumor that starts in the brain or in the spinal cord but mostly starts in the brain.

It arises from glial cells that are non-neuronal cells that maintain homeostasis and provide support and protection for the brain’s neuron.

The glial cell has 4 functions

Ipsilateral exposure

Objective

Determine whether the excessively use of cell phones could cause glioma tumors and ipsilateral exposure here in Puerto Rico.

Establish that glioma tumors and ipsilateral exposure can also be cancerous.

Page 9: Eduardo e. rivera proposal

Hypothesis

During the period of over ten years the person will show an increase in the formation of a glioma tumor that is cancerous and an increase of ipsilateral exposure.

Methodology

The people will go through a series of surveys in which I can determine that the use of cell phones transmits electromagnetic fields to the brain causing the formation of a glioma tumor.

Place people in the following groups:

1. Patients with glioma tumor and patients without glioma tumors.

2. A group of people that talk excessively comparing them with people that talk at normal rates.

Page 11: Eduardo e. rivera proposal

Methodology

After choosing the groups they will continue living their normal lives but they will be monitored.

There will be specific dates in which they will have to answer a series of questions on their performance and see if it matches our records.

Page 12: Eduardo e. rivera proposal

Methodology

Questions that will be ask in the specific dates:

1.identify the number of calls made and received

2.duration of the calls

3.If there was a change of pattern of use over a period of more than 6 months

4. If they use any headsets or hands- free devices

5. which side of the head the cell phone was predominantly held

6. main area of usage (urban/ rural/ both).

Methodology

As time passes the group working with the research will divide the results in the groups mentioned earlier and perform a diagnostic of the research and if the experiment really worked.

Page 14: Eduardo e. rivera proposal

Expected Results

Expected result could include a great increase of the formation of glioma tumors after a period of ten years and a higher increase of ipsilateral exposure on the same side the person uses the cell phone.

People that talk excessively will have and increase in the formation of the ipsilateral exposure. The people that don’t talk to much won’t have a major increase on tumor formation.

There will be and high increase in the formation of brain cancer and glioma tumors.
