Subject areas included health-related aspects of physical fitness, proper nutrition, heart disease, substance abuse, and the influence of mental, emotional, and psychological factors on these aspects
- Volunteered over 45 hours on Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, TX under the direction of Health Promotions manager, Lisa Roof, in the Health and Wellness department. Our mission was to enhance the health and wellness of all service members of the 17th Training Wing by providing high-quality health promotion and disease-prevention resources and services that focused primarily on physical activity, stress management, and nutrition.
Duties included assisting and training air force, military, intel personnel and firefighters during their daily physical training workouts. Included teaching proper mechanics, technique, and form in order to execute the proper lift and demonstrate understanding of the exercise. In addition to these duties, I instructed on the basic anatomy of the body, its function, injury prevention, posture, balance, coordination, spine and shoulder stabilization, range of motion, trigger point therapy, positioning during exercise, breathing, hydration, sleep deprivation, mental health, and recovery.
- Developed a realistic and effective comprehensive health and wellness program that is ready to be implemented. Program addresses physical, mental, emotional, social, and environmental components of health and wellness. Some examples include community wide stand up paddle events, access to financial planners and counselors, HRAs, blood pressure and cholesterol screening, fung shui, certified staging professionals, standing adjustable desks, monthly fitness challenges, and highly effective stress reduction workshops.
- Attended the 9th annual San Angelo Sports Medicine and Coaching Sciences Symposium. Two-day event consisting of twelve guest speakers addressing the following topics: sport motivation, concussion research, athlete hydration, protein consumption, professionalism and leadership, kinesiotaping (interactive), recreation for special populations, yoga rehab, etc.
- Attended Educational Webinar for the Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist® Course and the World Fuel Case Study (March 15th) presented by the Corporate Health and Wellness Association.

Facilitated guided instruction and note taking using visually stimulating and engaging PowerPoint lessons and technology.
Chaperoned Prom, took part in graduation ceremony, and coached girls Junior Varsity soccer team along with assisting nationally ranked Varsity program.
