Dr. Sophie Plagakis is an Adelaide born, trained and based Urologist and Urological Surgeon. She is a staff specialist at the Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Health Service where she treats general and oncological urological conditions. She also manages the investigation of functional voiding disorders and incontinence in male and female patients. Sophie holds a Masters degree in Public Health and advocates for system reform to improve patient safety and clinical outcomes.
Rosie is a Certified Professional Coach (ICF Accredited), Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner, Massage Therapist, Mindfulness Facilitator and has a Bachelor of Health Sciences
(Phys. and Pharm.). While passionate about wellness, science and communication, she is also passionate about wine, jigsaw puzzles,
nature, cooking and travelling.
Sophie currently works as the Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, providing support to men and their families with prostate cancer in urology, radiation oncology and medical oncology. She is passionate about empowering men and their families to understand their diagnosis to aid treatment decisions, deal with side effects of treatment and giving them reliable information and encouragement to “live well” with prostate cancer.
She has been an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Urological Nurses Society since 2011 being Secretary and President at state level.
