I can't believe it is already November 1st!! Thank you to everyone that came and participated in ourAnnual Fall Festival!! It was a huge success!! Thank you to our events committee, Mrs. Katie and

Mrs. Nicole. They did a wonderful job. Thank you to everyone who donated candy and participated ithe trunk or treat! We truly appreciate all of our families and employees.

We've included our monthly calendar and please take note we are only CLOSED on Thanksgivingday. We have decided to stay open on Friday, November 23rd to help out our families that have to

work or if you want to take advantage of shopping without the kiddos!!

month, as we use the Scientific Method to

explore pumpkins and other fall items with

our various experiments. We also have

several activities this month which

highlight our character value of gratitude.

We are so grateful that you have chosen to

We are going to be very

“scientific” this month, as we use

the Scientific Method to explore

colors, gummy bears, and even

pumpkins with our various

experiments. This month, we have

TWO all-class Show and Tell days.

On the 1st Friday, please have

your child bring any kind of leaf

to school. We are going to compare

and contrast the different colors

and shapes. Shapes are also the

focus on the third Friday, when

each child should bring something

in the shape of a circle, square,

rectangle, triangle, or oval. The

shape may be something as simple

as a picture of a slice of pizza

(triangle).

Did you know that the Native

Americans brought corn to

the first Thanksgiving

feast? We have some great

“corny” experiments for this

month, not to mention our

taste test of red, white,

yellow, and blue corn chips.

We’re also going to be

dissecting a pumpkin to see

what’s inside and practicing

our measurement skills with

a little baking.

Of course, along with our

study of forest animals,

leaves and trees, math

sentences, symbol-writing,

and word families, our

overriding theme for this

month is “gratitude.”

This month our Schoolers will get an introduction to the differences

and similarities that they share with children in China.They will be

exploring the country of China and the way people lives are led there.

Most schools in China run from about7:30 am – 5:00 pm, including a two-

hour break for lunch. Uniforms are typically required.

Besides subjects such as languageand math , schools teach m o r a l

education (values and attitudes thatare believed to be important for all

citizens).

WE HAD A WONDERFUL OCTOBER FILLED WITH A LOT OF LEARNINGAND FUN !! PUMPKIN CONTEST , FALL FEST AND TRUNK ORTREAT ! OUR SCHOOL AGERS RAISED FUNDS TO DONATE TO THEKELLER ANIMAL SHELTER . WE RAISED MONEY TO DONATE TO THEKELLER COMMUNITY STOREHOUSE. CHILDRENS LIGHTHOUSE NTARRANT PKWY IS PROUD TO BE A PART OF THIS COMMUNITY ANDIS ALL ABOUT CHARACTER BUILDING AND LEARNING !!
