Within the framework of the short courses, the Medical University of Graz introduces exchange students and observers (students and physicians) from around the world interested in paediatric medicine to its various disciplines and familiarises them with common paediatric practices.

The 4-week programme is held twice a year and consists of

 clinical rotations

 lectures

interactive case presentations or research talks in the afternoon

It is the goal of the short courses to give an insight into paediatric care as well as to provide a clinical experience.

Paediatrics training at a global university in the heart of Europe

Med Uni Graz is a young university with a long-standing tradition: the university became an independent university in 2004; formerly it was the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Graz, est. 1863.

The university hospital has 1,600 beds and cares for around 410,000 outpatients and around 83,000 inpatients each year.

Graz is the second-largest city in Austria, located 200 kilometers south of the capital Vienna.

The historic center was granted UNESCO World Heritage status.

Numerous Universities/Universities of Applied Sciences contribute to a large student population and a lively atmosphere.

Target group

In order to promote discussion and interaction between younger and more experienced colleagues, exchange students as well as observers (foreign students/doctors) at different stages of their career are invited to participate.

Language

The short courses are held in English, but in the ward doctors speak to the patients and staff in German. Supervisors will translate important information into English. Please be advised that not everything in the clinical routine can be translated and that the well-being and comfort of our patients is our priority.
