EEP, A MILESTONEIN BRAZILSSHIPBUILDINGINDUSTRYEstaleiro Enseada do Paraguau shipyard

EEP was created from the association of four

companies operating globally around a common

goal: the development of Brazils naval industry.

This partnership began in 2010 with Odebrecht

    Participaes e Investimentos S.A., OAS

Investimentos S.A. and UTC ParticipaesS.A. In 2012, Kawasaki Heavy Industries

Ltd. joined the group as a shareholder and

    technology partner.

Focused on building and integrating offshore

units, such as platforms, specialized vessels and

drilling units, EEP begins its trajectory with a

solid business proposal, a backlog of orders of

US$ 6.2 billion and a project that differentiates

the company: the construction of the Estaleiro

Enseada do Paraguau shipyard in the State of

Bahia. Designed to be among the most efficient

and modern in the world, this enterprise will

be a milestone in Brazils shipbuilding industry

by bringing together the best technology

and management focused on results and

a consistent sustainability policy. In Rio de

Janeiro, EEP operates at Inhama Shipyard,

    leased by Petrobras since 2010.

GLOBAL REFERENCEIN QUALITY,PRODUCTIVITY ANDTECHNOLOGYEEP gained a groundbreaking technological strength

when Kawasaki joined the company in 2012. Their

    participation guaranteed a consistent technology

transfer process, ensuring the best conditions

and deadlines for delivering highly complex naval

equipment. The industrial plant at the Estaleiro Enseada

do Paraguau shipyard was created following thestandards of quality, productivity and technology of the

best shipyards in the world, seeking maximum ef ficiency

and minimum waste in all operational stages.

The technology transfer process comprises training

professionals from EEP at Kawasakis industrial plants

and technology and training centers. This process also

includes consultancies in the shipbuilding area.

A corporate culturebased on safetyFor EEP, maximum quality and

    productivity involves commitment

to the health and safety of its

    employees, environmental

    protection and integrity of its

    equipment. Its culture, focused on

    continuous improvement with a

    solidary and preventative attitude

    associated with detailed risk

controls, allows EEP to fully comply

with the existing legislation and to

    have a high level performance

    pursuing its primary safety goal:

    zero accidents.

ferentiates it from others, the Estaleiro Enseada do Paraguau

pyard is under construction in an area of 1.6 million square

ters in the municipality of Maragojipe, in Bahia. The shipyard

s conceived to develop complex naval engineering projects

d process up to 36 thousand tons of steel per year, operating

single shift mode, which allows a wide margin to increase

oduction. Resulting from private investments of R$ 2.6 billion,

project will generate close to 3 thousand direct jobs and

thousand indirect jobs, starting a new economic cycle in the

concavo Baiano region, stimulating the development of an

ensive chain of suppliers and promoting a responsible policy for

leased by Petrobras and located in Caju district , on the shores of

Guanabara Bay. Besides revitalizing its facilities, scheduled to be

completed in the first half of 2013, EEP will convert, for Petrobras,

four oil tankers into the hulls of the future plat forms P-74, P-75, P-76

and P-77. The process will involve replacing 400 tons of hull bottom

steel plates, 1,700 tons of pip ing and 42 thousand tons of structure,

in a business involving US$ 1.7 billion. At the peak of operations,

EEPs activities at the Estaleiro Inhama shipyard will generate

To preserve and value the natural, historical,

cultural and social wealth of Maragojipe

region in the Reconcavo Baiano is one of the

pillars of EEPs sustainability policy. While the

diversity of this region has made the licensing

of this project more complex, it has also inspired

    a differentiated sustainability policy conceived

in an integrated manner right from the start

    of its planning.

With an operating strategy that starts by

rigorously meeting the requirements of the

existing licenses and consents going beyond

them whenever necessary , EEP is committed

to leaving a permanent legacy for the regions

where it develops its activities, both in Bahiaand in Rio de Janeiro. Thus, the company

therefore invests in a permanent dialogue

with the communities in its areas of influence

and develops a relationship of trust and

    transparency with stakeholders and clients,

    committing itself to the sustainable

management the two shipyards where it
