A star image in general consists of various values which construct the star as a commodity consumed by us, the audience and the music industry.

These values make the image of the star and don’t show the real person behind this image.

He thinks that stars are generally made out of a range of ancillary media like TV, radio, internet, etc. in order to create an image which then can be marketed to their target audiences

To attract this target audience the star image is composed of various meanings, i.e. sexual magnetism, creativity/talent, youthfulness, etc.

Our band represent a crossover between indie rock and boy band music – they are songwriters and performers, playing their own

Our target audience is the age group of 13 to 18 years Mainly girlsOur band reaches for an audience which is interested in

music and their lyricsThis audience would be into other bands like Most of them would buy through iTunes and ordinary CD’sDo they go to gigs etc? Gigs would be classical in a

stadium and probably not as much as other bands in that genre caused by the fact that their audience is in early teenage years and might not be allowed to go out in that kind of way.

They would listen to typical broadcasts like “heart” and “kiss”.

The video shows the constant focus on love and its high points

The little elements of romantic images, i.e. The love letters or love toast, which give a clear image of love

The CD cover and poster both give an idea of the band and its values

The hearts and instruments show the passion for the music and interest in romantic images

Obvious signs of romantic elements in this video are shown through the pink hearts and him making breakfast for her

The image of the band is much more innocent in a romantic way different to other bands this generation

Our CD digipak is realtively romantic shown by the „love letter“ style of the 1940s

Poster is much more romantic with all the hearts as a curtain

Band is general quite young looking in video through their use of pink hearts and colorful use of the general video

The images of the cover and poster show their young attitude by the smiling way

Their star image would be shown as young and having fun shown by the white background and not using that much darker colors different to other bands

Video is very clean in terms of the not suppressed and shown love scenes of the couple

Clean cuts between the shots and the animation

Innocent looking images of the band through their cover and poster presented by all the hearts and Polaroid's.

Their innocent look presented by the pink hearts and the narrative based storyline within the lyrics

The boys on the cover looking down to their papers with the band‘s name “The Paper Hearts“ shows the ordinary and innocent looking way of these guys

Our product and ancillary text are effective in a combination because they give a clear image of the band as “stars” who are more interested in their passion, the music and writing their songs, rather than in conspicuous consumption or other values of this kind

Their use of image and video is shown in the particular way of using mainly colourful images and romance throughout both
