Dear Parents,In our class, your child will be participating in weekly interactive “Word Study Activities.” Please encourage your child to look for the Greek and Latin root words we are studying in print material you have in your home. Examples of print material they may find these words in includes books, magazines, recipe books, newspapers, labels, cereal boxes, trading cards as well as E-books and age-appropriate website information they may read on their technological devices. As they read, they may also find words not found on our list with the same Greek or Latin root. They may choose to bring the “new” words they find to share with our class. Thank you for helping to encourage your child to become an engaged learner who gains an understanding words we study are found everywhere!
