Introduction

This guide describes the changes made in EFI Pace version 32.00. The first part of the guide describes the new feature and enhancement updates to the EFI Pace system, while the second part of the guide lists the defects repaired in version 32.00.

Before you upgrade your EFI Pace system to version 32.00, read the descriptions of the changes made to all the modules that you plan to use. Also read about the minimum system requirements and review any changes with other system users, as applicable. If you have any questions about how the changes may affect you or about changes that you must make to your system before you upgrade your system, please contact your EFI Pace Support representative.

This section summarizes the system enhancement updates in EFI Pace version 32.00 by module, including the corresponding issue number. Refer to the “Version 32.00 Fixed Defects” topic for detailed descriptions of all defects repaired in this version of EFI Pace.

Important After you upgrade your EFI Pace system to version 32.00, expect the initial startup of EFI Pace to take significantly longer than usual. Depending on the size of the database and the performance of the server hardware, system startup may take a few hours. Please schedule enough time to run the upgrade. During the initial startup, EFI Pace adds a “last modified” date to each record in the database, which takes a considerable amount of time.

Accounts Payable

[PACE-59999] 32.00-714 The A/P Detail report (ap-detail-listing.rpt) now includes terms, contact information, total of vendors and the report parameters used.

The A/P Aging report (ap-aging-report.rpt) now includes the company name, report parameters, total vendors, terms, percentages to grand totals, vendors and vendor types.

The A/P Aging Detail report (ap-aging-report-landscape.rpt) is a landscape version of the A/P Aging report. The new report also includes an optional second row with purchase order, reference, last paid date and last check number.

[PACE-60958] 32.00-299 The system includes a new Misc - 1099 IRS Form report (1099-form.rpt) to run 1099 Interest reports.

[PACE-61351] 32.00-277 The 1099 Listing report (1099-listing-report.rpt) and 1099 Form report (1099-int-form.rpt) now include the same parameters, such as a total paid limit and the ability to mask confidential data.

Accounts Receivable

[PACE-62923] 32.00-830 The formatting of the A/R Detail Aging report (aging-detail-report-landscape.rpt) was changed to improve usability.

Data Collection

[PACE-62061] 32.00-694 The Data Collection Task List feature is now available without EFI Pace Scheduler or PrintFlow licensing. To

display the Task List button on the Data Collection Action screen, your system administrator must select the new Data Collection Setup check box, Task List Without Scheduling.

EFI Pace Scheduler

[PACE-64254] 32.00-1082 The HTML Scheduler now includes an interface to validate the end point URL configured in the system.

[PACE-64253] 32.00-1082 The HTML version of EFI Pace Scheduler now includes the Sync Jobs button on the Jobs List page. When you click this button, the system clears from EFI Pace Scheduler the jobs that are closed in EFI Pace.

[PACE-63355] 32.00-886 EFI Pace Scheduler now uses a new Flash-free HTML scheduler.

Estimating

[PACE-63772] 32.00-1068 You can now add estimate finishing operations on the Estimate Request Detail page when you select a job product type.

[PACE-62946] 32.00-852 The system now copies all user-defined field values on Estimate records to their corresponding user-defined field values on Job records when you convert an estimate to a new job or reconvert it to an existing job.


[PACE-61358] 32.00-463 The Updated message now disappears after 10 seconds, or immediately after you start editing fields.

[PACE-41307] 32.00-378 The Estimate Summary report (estimate-summary.rpt) now correctly displays updated estimate inks.

[PACE-61421] 32.00-372 The system now properly converts "In-line" finishing operations to the job.

[PACE-61810] 32.00-372 When you click an "inline" finishing operation from a Press Event record, the popup now directs you to the Estimate Finishing Operation Detail page.

[PACE-25333] 32.00-28 EFI Pace now always saves Ink information on the Press record, not the Part, to be more consistent across the system.

Note If the Calc Inks By Press check box in your system is deselected prior to v32.00, you must recalculate each estimate after updating to EFI Pace v32.00, as indicated in the corresponding warning message. Additionally, if you use custom reports that show ink information, please adjust the reports to show ink information from the press objects.

[PACE-61044] 32.00-1 If the Calc Inks By Press check box is deselected prior to upgrading your system to v32.00, when you open estimates after upgrading, the system displays the message, Estimate has changes that require recalculation: Values have been changed. The system removes the message after you recalculate the estimate, and the ink results appear on the Print tab of the Estimate Quantity Detail page, rather than on the Materials tab.

Framework

[PACE-59756] 32.00-958 iNet Crystal Clear reports was upgraded to version 19.2 and previous versions (i.e., 15.1,18.1) were removed.

[PACE-62655] 32.00-871 All objects now include the Last Modified field, which the system updates with the appropriate timestamp.

General Ledger

[PACE-60002] 32.00-1015 The GL Balance Sheet report (balance-sheet.rpt) now includes formatting improvements, such as Page # of # in the footer, an extra column header for Normal Comparative/Budget Comparative options, the period/fiscal year in the report header, and Budget Comparative or Normal Comparative in the report header.


[PACE-60004] 32.00-954 The General Ledger Income Statement report (income-statement.rpt) now includes a standardized header.

[PACE-60000] 32.00-494 The system includes a new report, Trial Balance By Date (trial-balance-bydate.rpt), you can access from the General Ledger > Close Period menu. The new report runs from the beginning of your EFI Pace general ledger records to the As Of date specified on the report.

Hardware

[PACE-62273] 32.00-886 TLS 1.0 was disabled for Postgres.

[PACE-60145] 32.00-682 EFI Pace display a yellow warning icon and message in the top right corner if the system runs on less than one the following required RAM ranges:

• 16 to 32 GB of RAM




[PACE-60144] 32.00-633 If the EFI Pace free disk space is low (i.e. below 25%, 75%<= space used <90%) then the system displays a yellow warning icon with the message, "Your EFI Pace is low on disk space. Please contact support."

If the EFI Pace free disk space is below 10% (90%<= space used) then the system displays a red critical warning icon with the message, "Your EFI Pace is low on disk space. Please contact support as soon as possible."

The warning message also appears in the Check System warning schedule.


Inventory

[PACE-42939] 32.00-837 The Ship to Inventory feature now uses job-level shipments instead of legacy shipments. A shipment with a shipment type of Ship to Inventory includes only a single carton content that is either a job, job product or job part, and the costs calculated for the related inventory transaction depends on the carton content:

If you ship a job part, the system uses the actual costs for the job part as the total cost on the inventory transaction. If you ship a job product, the system uses the sum of the actual costs on the job parts within the product as the total cost on the inventory transaction. If you ship a job, the system uses the sum of the actual costs across all job parts as the total cost on the inventory transaction.

[PACE-63068] 32.00-810 The Inventory Valuation report (inventory-valuation.rpt) no longer includes added inventory line transactions if the inventory item is in a non-tracking state.

Job Billing

[PACE-60589] 32.00-880 The Customer Address Listing (customer-address-listing.rpt) and Vendor Listing (vendor-listing.rpt) reports now include summary options. The detailed versions of the reports also include improved layouts and sorting options.

[PACE-60590] 32.00-817 The Billed Sales report (billed-sales-report.rpt) now includes the Sales Person Name and Customer Name report parameters. Additionally, the report ranges are included on the report header, and you can now access the report from the main menu by navigating to Accounting > Receivables > Reports > General > Billed Sales.


[PACE-60588] 32.00-453 The Job Billing Summary report (jobbilling-billing-summary.rpt) now includes header information that indicates the chosen parameters. This report also includes the following additional information:

1. Salesperson Name

2. More parameter options for grouping and filtering

3. CSR, Job, Job Cost and Invoice Batch display options

Because the Job Billing Summary and the Job Billing History (jobbilling-invoice-history.rpt) reports are very similar, the Job Billing History report no longer appears on the main menu, but is still available from the reports frontend. This report also includes the expanded header information and Salesperson Name.

Job Control Center

[PACE-60586] 32.00-1013 The Stock Ticket (jobcontrol-stock-ticket.rpt) and Stock Ticket v2 (jobcontrol-stock-ticket-v2.rpt) reports include the following formatting changes for enhanced usability:

• The Job Number is in a larger font.

• The Stock Number is now the first column on the left.

• The Description is concatenated with the Additional Description field.

[PACE-62176] 32.00-389 You can now delete jobs from the Combo Job area instead of opening each individual record to delete them.

Job Costing

[PACE-63410] 32.00-1010 When you post job costs, the system populates the new field, Posted Date, with the applicable date.

[PACE-56460] 32.00-883 When you ship to inventory, the system calculates the costs associated with the inventory transaction based on the number of parts, products, or jobs shipped, and a proportion of the job costs. The total value of all inventory transactions does not exceed the total of the actual costs. Additionally, all corresponding negative job cost transactions are associated with the correct part, if shipping at the part level. If you ship at the product level, the system posts the corresponding negative costs to the parts that make up the product. If you ship at job level, the system posts the corresponding negative costs to all parts that make up the job.

Job Shipments

[PACE-53483] 32.00-216 By default, the system now uses the value from the Ship To Contact or from the Customer record if the Ship To Contact contains a null value. You can also manually force the Shipping Account Number on the Job Shipment Detail page.


PaceConnect

[PACE-64026] 32.00-898 In the Fedex integration, the system now creates the finishing operation for wide format jobs when the XML contains the attributes for the SnG finishing operation.

[PACE-63454] 32.00-868 EFI Pace now includes the seeded S&G Finishing operation with the following options and options lists:

[PACE-63050] 32.00-669 The Metrix Layout view for the estimate press form now includes color patches that match the colors of the Metrix image. This enables you to more easily identify the press form content at the Metrix layout image.


[PACE-61401] 32.00-378 If you gang multiple parts with Metrix to the same press sheet, then the system highlights plates, print units and other shared resources. A dotted blue underline indicates shared resources. When you hover the cursor over these fields, a special tooltip displays more information about the ganged parts.

[PACE-60022] 32.00-102 The PaceConnect-Metrix integration now supports Coldset and Heatset roll materials.

[PACE-62660] 32.00-1 Layout images from Metrix now include the part description for flat and folded product types, so that Metrix-calculated layouts are easier to understand.

PaceConnect-ONESOURCE

[PACE-62676] 32.00-489 When you use the ONESOURCE Tax integration and post an invoice, the system attaches the Acknowledge BOD message to the invoice.

PaceConnect-SmartLinc ProcessShipper

[PACE-60638] 32.00-421 You can now enter up to 500 characters in the Shipping Instructions field.

[PACE-59387] 32.00-228 If your system includes the ProcessShipper integration through BOD, you can no longer modify the shipment attributes on the job shipments associated with the BIll Of Lading, which is shared with ProcessShipper.

PaceStation

[PACE-63550] 32.00-960 PaceStation now supports timestamp fields.

[PACE-62640] 32.00-708 The system no longer includes Flash editors.

[PACE-11922] 32.00-678 When you create or edit a PaceStation inquiry, you can now use the new Unposted Only check box to limit the drop-down list of postable foreign key objects to "unposted only," rather than the full list.

Additionally, when you filter an inquiry using a postable foreign key object, the system displays the new Unposted Only check box. Select this check box to limit the drop-down list of available objects to only those that are unposted.


[PACE-59431] 32.00-185 You can now add Between filters with consolidated dates.

[PACE-57111] 32.00-158 You can now use IN and NOT IN filters on foreign keys in PaceStation inquiries .

Purchasing

[PACE-62547] 32.00-861 The system now requires a purchase order authorization when you update the extended price of a purchase order only if the new value is over the authorization amount.

[PACE-48950/PACE-52793] 32.00-626 The Auto Create PO feature now includes the required date for the purchase order line. The system applies the following hierarchy when calculating the required date:

2. Job Material's Vendor Lead Time

3. Inventory Item's Vendor Lead Time

4. Purchase Order Setup Default

Database Changes

You should run the Version Compare Tool in the EFI Pace Admin Console before you upgrade your EFI Pace system. This tool enables you to view all the changes made to the database in EFI Pace version 32.00 since your last upgrade. Because these changes may affect custom jobs or reports in your system, you should check and modify any customizations as necessary to match the new database schema.

To compare versions of EFI Pace, do all of the following:

1 Navigate to the Backup/Upgrade section of the EFI Pace Admin Console main page and click Version Comparison Tool.

Tip: Refer to the Admin Console guide in the EFI Pace Online Help system for information on how to log into the EFI Pace Admin Console and additional details.

The Version Compare Tool page appears.

2 Do all of the following:

• In the Old Version field, select your current version of EFI Pace.

• In the New Version field, select the version of EFI Pace to which you want to upgrade.

• Click Show Differences.

The Version Compare Tool page refreshes, with a list of statistics and differences between the two version of EFI Pace that you selected, including new, modified, and removed fields and objects.
