Excel 2014 registration is fast approaching. All interested High School students should register with Nate (not YFC). The $110 price includes some meals, lodging and transportation as well as the conference. There are registration forms in the church office. Excel is Youth for Christ's annual conference for high school students and their adult leaders. Excel combines praise and worship, prayer, drama, comedy and music with strong biblical teaching to bring you to a life-changing encounter with God. It's held at the Saratoga Springs City Center and the Saratoga Hilton Hotel Fri night thru Sunday evening (January 17th - 20th).

The Choir and Drama Team are hard at work with preparations for this year's Christmas Musical. There is still time to be a part of it all! Choir rehearsals are Sunday afternoons at 4:30 pm and anyone in grade eight and older is welcome to join us. The Drama Team needs all kinds of people, from actors to stage hands to set painters and more. We're also looking for someone to head up publicity for the event, and that job could be done from home. Please consider being a part of one of the biggest outreach events of the year. It is always an exhilarating and meaningful experience! Contact Sandie Wanamaker(egcc.music@verizon.net) if you're interested in the choir, and either Sandie or Marty Glynn (372-9619) in you're interested in drama. We would love to have you join us!

SCRIPTURE MEMORY Roman’s 8 (Life through the Spirit) is the chapter of scripture we are encouraging our church body to learn. Copies of the first 17 verses of Roman’s 8 are out on the table in the Narthex. Please set a goal and work on memorizing as many verses as you can. If you wish to encourage others and/or hold yourself accountable you can keep track of your progress by reciting the memorized verses to Katie Fischer in the Library between Sunday school and church. We will track our church’s progress on the bulletin board in the Narthex. Each week we have you repeat the verses you learned the weeks before to be sure that they stay in your memory.

The children, up to high school level, have received shorter verses to learn

in Sunday School. But any children who wish to, plus students in high

schoo,l are encouraged to learn as much of Romans 8 as they can. Please

encourage your children to memorize the verses. Thank you!

The infants and toddlers in the nursery are looking for more adults and teens to play with during the church service and especially during the Sunday School hour. We are also looking for someone to be a nursery coordinator on call, which occurs once every three months for an entire month. If anyone is interested they should contact Heather Sweet.

Thursday 1pm to 2pm: This group is studying 1 Samuel. There is a time of prayer following for those who can stay later. Contact is Nancy Snyder (399-3045). Dan Durant’s father, Lowell, who is being monitored for irregular heart rhythms. Jim Hale, pastor of Saratoga Chapel and son of Dody and Moe Hale, suffered a heart attack,

has undergone surgery at Ellis Hospital, and is currently on road to recovery. Karen Feurer’s brother-in-law, Dan Snyder, lost his father, Bruce Snyder, to cancer. Please

pray for the Snyder family as they go through this difficult time. Michael Derose, the Barlowe’s grandson, who is struggling with a recent diagnosis of

epilepsy and Crohn’s Disease. Prayers for him, his family and his doctors. Jamel Daniels, and his family with his Pop, Dan Green on life support. Mary, a friend of the Resue family, who has an infection following a surgery. Robb Marshall's dad who has been diagnosed with lymphoma and will be going through

chemotherapy. Doug Chevalier who has been suffering abdominal pain for two years. Please pray for

answers from the doctors and relief from the pain. Diane Fisher is requesting prayer support for her sister, Candy, in California who is

struggling with depression, pain and poor appetite. Continued prayer for healing and strength for Diane Clancy’s mother as she battles cancer.
