to get these results? How? Why?
Lab Report
Objective
• During this lab you will investigate the concepts of osmosis and diffusion using eggs
Procedures – Day 1
• Obtain one egg per group
• Measure and record the circumference of the egg as well as its mass
Procedures – Day 1
• Place the egg in a beaker. Pour in enough white vinegar to completely cover the egg.
• Record your observations
Procedures – Day 1
• Store the eggs in the refrigerator for 24 hours
Procedures – Day 2
• Obtain egg in beaker from refrigerator
• Record observations
• Return the egg in beaker to refrigerator for another 24 hours.
Procedures – Day 3
• Carefully remove the egg from the beaker and record it measurements (circumference and mass).
• Write an explanation for your observations using the correct vocabulary
Procedures – Day 3
• Determine the mass and circumference of the egg and record it in the data table.
• Pour 150 ml of corn syrup into its own beaker.
• Add the egg and store in refrigerator for 24 hours.
Procedures – Day 4
• Remove the egg from the beaker and record your observations.
• Record the mass of the egg.
• Use a toothpick to pop the egg membrane and record your observations.
• Write an explanation of your observations using the correct vocabulary.
