Production Planning and Execution
With Enhancement Package 5 SAP continues to meet the needs of manufacturers to provide faster time-to-
market of new products, realize the potential of outsourced manufacturing networks, and increase efficiency of
internal manufacturing through more effective planning, standardized and efficient practices, and effective
integration with execution providing higher quality at lower costs.
Enhanced responsiveness with new products is provided by synchronizing the engineering and manufacturing
designs. Streamlined processes with contract manufacturer ensure a safer supply chain with improved
materials and quality tracking and greater responsiveness with improved coordination with visibility into
production operations.
For internal manufacturing operations, improved lean planning, better work in process insight, and improved
labor coordination reduce costs and improve efficiencies while enhancements to the manufacturing integration
platform bring manufacturing integration and intelligence applications which are easier to develop, more robust
to maintain, and lowers the overall cost of innovation.
