1 General Please read the manual carefully. The unit may only be operated and looked after by trained members of
staff. The unit may only be opened by trained service engineers authorised by the manufacturer.
The unit must be kept clear of liquids and may only be run with the indicated voltage (220-240 V).

3 Installation 1. Before using the unit make sure that the Power switch (5) is in the "off" position.
2. Connect the handpiece to the Motor connector (12) on the Control box.
3. Set the Speed control dial (1) at "0".
4. Connect the Foot pedal (11) to the Foot pedal connector (8).
5. Then connect the device to the Powercord (6).
6. Unfasten the dust cover from the micro motor and put the handpiece (not included) on.

#174027 Straight dental handpiece
7. Select bur (not included) and open the chuck by turning to counterclockwise. Place the bur in the open
chuck and lock it again by turning it clockwise. Check if the bur is fitted correctly and if the chuck is
securely locked.
8. Select the rotation by Forward-Reverse switch (3). (F = clockwise / R = counter clockwise)
9. Turn on the device with the Power switch (5).
10. Use the Speed control dial (1) to to set the required speed.
11. When using the Foot pedal connect it to the designated Foot pedal connector (8) on the back of the
Control box (2). The Power switch (5) must be in the "off" position. you can now set the desired rotation
speed.
12. IMPORTANT: Before changing the bur it is also necessary to switch the power off (5) or set the Speed
control dial (1) to "0". Please hold at least 2-3 mm distance between handpiece point and burs. Before
bur changing be sure to stop handpiece running. Otherwise the handpiece can be damaged.

4 Safety instructions 1. Never leave the unit unsupervised when there are children or persons inexperienced in using the unit
nearby.
2. Only use the unit for the applications described in these operating instructions. Only use bits and
accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
3. Never use the unit if the power cord is damaged or if the unit has been dropped or come in contact
with water.
4. Please follow the care instructions in the handpiece manual.
5. Do not clean or lubrify the handpieces during operation.
6. Switch off the unit before changing the rotation direction.
7. Use the folowing cutout for the Control box: 220V/250V/2A.
8. Switch off the unit before changing filling bits.
9. The bit has to rotate before it can be used on a tooth.
10. Wear protective goggles during operation and ensure an adadequate extraction of air.
11. When storing the unit, insert one bit into the chuck of the handpiece.
5 Operation Operating conditions:

Humidity: 30%~75%
Air pressure: 700~1060 hPa
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Handpiece may only be used with included Foot pedal.
Damaged burs can cause early material fatigue.
6 Maintenance You have purchased a low-maintenance dental unit. Only the carbon brushes in the micro motor should
be changed once a year. Please send us your unit in.
It is crucial to thoroughly clean and lubrify the handpieces after each use!
(recommended spray: #174010 and adapter #17401150).
Before cleaning the micro motor please make sure to lock the micro motor with the locking screw
(included) in order to prevent liquids entering the micro motor!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please store the handpiece after lubrication separately!
7 Trouble shooting 1. Check that the unit is properly connected to the mains outlet.
2. Check that the hand unit is correctly connected to the main unit.
3. Check that the power switch is in the "on" position.
4. Should the problems persist, please contact your service partner right away.
5. Check if the carbon brushes are worn off and need to be changed (please see chapter Maintenance).
