    Blessing Your Issue

Issues. Lets be honest. Weve allgot them, right? This weeks

    parasha is called Eikev meaning

a heel, the result of and Because

in the sense of being on the heel of

something else. Straight out of the

    starting gate in this weeks

    parasha weve several beautiful

pictures Abba reveals from HisTorahone subtle reminder from

    last weeks parsha, are we

    clingingto it? Remember, as

    pointed out, to clingto YHVHs

Torah is to clingto Him, much in

the same way the woman with the issue of blood for 12 years did. She knew

it was a high price to pay had she been looked upon with disfavor, but she

pushed through the crowd and clungto her RedeemerYeshuas Tzit-tzit

and was healed! Hallelu-YAH! Her womb had suffered much from the issue

of blood, and this week albeit more in a figurative sense, you too had yourshare of issuessome explanation.

Inventory your travails over the course of this past weekthings that

emotionally double us over. A relationship is in the ditch, a job is in the

tank, a number of unpayablepile of bills collect on the credenza, you

received an unfavorable diagnosis from a family doctoryou name it, its

your issue. In most translations that word reads asfruit, which accurately

matches the Hebrew peri.Literally it speaks of the miracle of childbirth.

He will favor you and bless you and multiply you; He will bless the

issue of your womb and the produce of your soil, your new grain and wine

and oil, the calving of your herd and the lambing of your flock, in the land

that He swore to your fathers to assign to you1.

Perhaps we read that and mosey on none the richer, but I think

theres a greater lesson to be gained here. If we look at the word for womb,

its taken from Strongs# H990, and is the wordbeh'-ten, meaning to be

hollow; the belly, especially the womb; also the bosomor bodyof anything.

Now, consider all the types and places thatfruitcomes from in

context of your study of Torah. Theres the fruit of

A personswomb, their body, also their works, labor, way, their

actions, deeds, misdeeds, their hands, way, mouth, and lips.

The land, a country, soil, the vineyards, Israel, and the Earth.

    The LORDs Table, The Spirit.

    Notice the

relationship here. In the Paleo the

word for wombis comprised of a Beit,

a Tet, and a Nun. Consulting Dr.

Benners Ancient Hebrew Lexicon reveals this word possesses a two letter

root word Baht, comprised of the Beit and Tet, meaning cracksas a

division taken from the middle of the body. It also means something that is

broken up into pieces. So, in the simplest understanding the womb cracks,

or partsopen and the mother then gives birth to her newborn child. However, in a very real way wereall giving birth to things every single day.

In the above Brit Chadasha passage we read that out

from Lust issues something as well. It comes from

Strongs #G2380 in Greek and is the word thuo,

meaning to set the heart upon, to rush or breathe

hard as a blowing of smoke, inferring to sacrifice or

kill, but is better understood by studying its Hebrew

cognate kaw-tar'. Identified as a primitive root from

Strongs #H6999, through the idea of fumigation in a

closeplace and perhaps thus drivingout the

occupants; to smoke, that is, turn into fragrance by

fire (especially as an act of worship): - burn (incense,

sacrifice) (upon), (altar for) incense, kindle, offer (incense, a sacrifice)

better known as worship. Our lips open, out pour either praises or curses, but either way our mouths issueout thefruitof what who we worship

whether good or bad. Concerning the relationship between the mouth and

the heart we read his mouth speaks what overflows from his heart3.The

heart is supposed to be cultivated like the

soil4. Our thoughts and appetites, our

words and our hearts, our hands and our

feet are all instruments used in worship

of our King Yeshua, or of somethingweve rebelliously replaced Him with

which is why YHVH said He was a

jealous God5. In the Decalogue He said

You shall have no other gods beside Me6

which makes sense now when He draws

reference to the pagan deities named

after their grain (dagan), wine (tirosh),

calving (sheger), and lambing (ashtarot),[which] are also names of Semitic deities7. The same word often was used to

refer both to a deity and a phenomenon which that deity was thought to

    control or personify8.

    Fruit Unto Holiness

At the beginning of this portion Moses said Wherefore it shall come

to pass9, ifor more accurately becauseyou

give heed to these judgments, and keep, and do them

    .

See, YHVH is about building a vessel of

clay(Tet) that is able to intelligently

comes that we break apart (Beit-Tet, Baht), whether in times of adversity

or joy, we can issue forth Life (Nun)which is Hisfruit of Holiness! But now

being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have yourfruit

unto holiness, and the end everlasting life10.

    Kosher Snare

We read (Deu 7:16) You are to devourall the

peoples that Adonai your God hands over to you -

show them no pity, and do not serve their gods,

because that will become a trapfor you.The word

    used here for devour is

    taken from Strongs

    #398 and is the

    word aw-kal'. It

    means to eat, consume,

burn up, feed, and dine. But

idiomatically we understand it to mean destroy or take for a prey. This

noun is a basic word for food. It first occurs in Genesis 14:11 referring to the

spoils of war. The primary use of the term is in the

Joseph account (Gen.41-47). It seems throughout to

refer to food seen as a necessity of life, vital. It is usedparticularly of that which The LORD provides11.

In the Paleo we obtain yet

another beautiful picture of YHVHs mind. Within

this word is the 2-letter root word found in the Kaf-

Lamed connection, or Kahland it means Vessel,

Complete, or Whole. So, just like the picture of the

womb we previously studied, God is still revealing

the work He is doing with us as clay vessels, He

empowers us to hear, trust and obey His word so

that we will recognize the things He places in front of us are designed to

make us whole! Is it any wonder theres an Alef on the front of this word?

Observe this verse Yeshua spoke some thousands of years after YHVH gave

this commandment to our ancestors just east of the Jordan River. Yeshua

    said,

    TTaakkeeMMyyyyookkeeuuppoonnyyoouu,,aannddlleeaarrnnffrroommMMee,,ffoorrIIaammggeennttlleeaannddhhuummbbllee

    MMyyllooaaddiisslliigghhtt1122..""

In the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon the Kaf-Lamed 2-letter root word

again reveals that the pictographis a picture of the bent palm

representing the bending or subduing of the

will, theis a picture of a shepherd staff or

yoke. Combined these mean "tame for theyoke". An animal or land that is tamed has

been worked and is complete and ready for

use. The Alefplaced at the beginning of this

word means strong, power, leader, & yokebut it also means as pointed

out by Rabbi Munk the Aleph symbolizes the One and Only, the Eternal,

the Omnipotent God13.See, YHVH puts things in front of us that may look

impossiblebut remember, anything plus God is a majority! God says,

consume themthe reality is though, if you dont, it will become a snare.

The word here for snare is mo-kashe' and it means a noose(for

catching animals), (literally or figuratively); by implication a hook(for the

nose); be ensnared. See, this is bondage all over againwhich YHVH had

delivered Israel from when He took them out of Egyptthe house of

bondage. Yeshua said and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall

make you free14.All Yeshua was trying to tell us is what His Father had

been telling our ancestors since the beginning. If you will shemaMy words

and trust me, then I will make you free. Free from all the things that appearimpossible to overcome and take as a spoil of war. So we all wear a yoke,

the question is, who does yours belong to?

    School Days

Growing up in South Carolina, funny I cant remember when we

stoppedbut I do remember every morning in homeroom when the

announcements would come over the P.A. The entire class, including ourteacher would stand up next to our desk, place our right hand over our

heart and face the American Flag and in unisonEchadrecite The Pledge

of Allegiance. At the time I remember a tug on my heart strings as a child

with thoughts about horses and gun battles, artistic renderings of George

Washington crossing the Delaware, muskets and minute men and Valley

Forge. My heart is forever ingrained with the Pledge of Allegiance and I will

die with it proudly wrapped inside the ventricles of my heart in every

heartbeat. I love this land. But I also know that had we not been disciplinedto carve out time every day, year after year to stand and recite the pledge it

most likely would not have the impassioned place it does today.

We are a race of forgetters. We are. Sure, some excel at certain

memory skills, especially as it relates to ones own life experiences but

unless youve made it a career or just a select few who are compelled to

study it, most of our recollections of history are spotty. Dont feel bad, but

know that you do have a responsibility to knowwhich is why YHVH

    instructed MoshetoRemindIsrael,

Beware lest youforgetthe LORD your God by not keeping His

commandments and His ordinances and His statutes which I am

commanding you today; (Deu 8:11 NAS)

then your heart becomes proud, and youforgetthe LORD your God

who brought you out from the land of Egypt, out of the house of

    slavery. (Deu 8:14 NAS)

The word in Hebrew is shaw-kakh', and it means to mislay, that is, to beobliviousof, from want of memory or attention. Interestingly, we were

speaking just moments ago about traps. The two-letter root word Shach

found in the Shin-Chet literally means sharp walls, a pit dug into the

ground for the purpose of trapping someone or something15. The middle

letterKaf is a picture of a bent hand, and among other things means to

allow. When we choose to forget YHVHs Torah, we are allowing ourselves

to fall into a pit with high walls, to become trapped. Sadly, this is trueand

whats worse, many times of our own making.

    To Walk in His Ways

The good news is that even though we sometimes fall into a pit,

YHVH gives us a way out! He says "For if you are careful to keep all this

commandment which I am commanding you, to do it, to love the LORD

your God, to walk in all His ways and hold fast to Him; then the LORD will

drive out all these nations from before you, and you will dispossess nations

greater and mightier than you16.Remember us discussing issues at the

    beginning of todays teaching,

    and how we remember the

    woman who

clung to Yeshuas Tzit-tzit. Here it is againand

hold fast to Him the word used here is the same

exact word, daw-bak'.Simply defined it means

to adhere to, to join or stick to someone or

something. As the old sayingoes, Stick to yer

guns. Your guns, as I was taught were your principles. Our principles that

define us are found in YHVHs Torah. They define us as His people, as

overcomers, and as a people forever remembering His Word so that we will

always recognize who we are, where we came from, and how we arrived in

His land of blessing. May we remember and never forget.

    Blessed to Endure

"It is not for your righteousness or for the uprightness of your heart that

you are going to possess their land, but it isbecause of the wickedness of

these nations that the LORD your God is driving them out before you, inorder to confirm the oathwhich the

LORD swore to your fathers, to

    Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

(Deu 9:5 NAS) YHVH has called us to

endure. Hes told us there will be tests,

but these are not to destroy us, but to

allow us to witness His deliverance and

hand in our lives. He confirmed anoath with our father Abraham many

thousands of years ago. He underwent

tests and trials, some painful. Our

ancestors did too. And today we still are

allowed opportunity to witness His working in our lives. He desires to

confirm the oathin your life. The thing is, we have

a responsibility to this oath as well. We have been

given the opportunity to stand up beside our

desk, face The Temple, recite The Shema and to

cling to His Word which He desires to write upon

our heart. If we will let Him do that He will make

your life bear much fruit! Let us persevere and

cling to Him, Because He has called us His own.

    Ahmein.

So, brothers, be patient until the Lord returns.

See how the farmer waits for the precious "fruitof the earth" he is patient over it until it

receives the fall and spring rains17.
