What are El nino la Nina

• The storm have more power than a million hiroshima bombs

• The El nino and la nina storms are the two extremes of the oceans atmosphere

• El nino has a dramatic affect on the world wheather pattern

• The storms are tracked by the temperature of the surface

The conditions

• The el nino: is caused by the trade winds relax in the pacific.this leads to warmer water temperatures,in the eastern and central pacific because upwelling is reduced

• La nina: occurs when cooler than usual ocean temperatures occur in the eastern pacific.

How long they last

• El nino: they last like 18 months and only occur every 3-5 years

• La nina: only occur 3-5 years but last 1-3 years

• It could happen at anytime• El nino: It is caused by trade winds

Is it dangerous

• El nino: is very deadly it killed close to 2,100people in 1997-1998.

• It caused at least 33 billion dollars worth of property damage.
