NHP has everything you need to protect your low voltage AC circuits from the effects of surges. The consequential damage to an installation from a power surge can vary from total destruction of valuable assets to less visible damage that can be just as inconvenient.

The rapid rise in voltage, which is a characteristic of a transient voltage surge, can cause immediate failure of sophisticated electronics and microprocessor based equipment, such as servers, personal computers and workshops.

The transient voltage surge can also cause premature ageing of components and therefore lower the tolerance of components to future transients. Over a period of time the devices may be weakened and subsequently fail.

Although no physical damage may be evident, surges can often damage microprocessor based systems causing unexplained data loss, data and software corruption, system crashes and lock ups.

NHP is the largest supplier of distribution boards to the Australasian market. Our range of distribution boards cover all applications from economical plastic, multi purpose indoor to premium weatherproof enclosed switchboards.

They maintain a common and attractive appearance throughout the range and provide a unique enclosure system for our range of circuit breakers and associated accessories. NHP offers flexibility through the use of standard options including lighting and power control, security and emergency lighting, energy metering, surge protection and emergency stop.

Pivotal to our range is the focus on safety through our patented ‘Lock DinTM’ captive locking system for outgoing MCB circuits. Fitting within a pole width, ‘Lock DinTM’ is pad-lockable in the ‘off’ position. This locking system is tamper-proof and provides the ability to safely lock off an individual circuit breaker, isolating the circuit so maintenance can be performed with minimal risk.

NHP’s standard range of distribution boards are manufactured in accordance with Australian Standard AS 60439.1,3BIH and can be customised to suit your specific requirements.

Monitor Energy Performance - Metering and Energy Management Systems

Lighting Control Systems

NHP has introduced a new field-bus system capable of automated lighting control. The use of intelligent bus powered components like movement detectors, temperature sensors, LUX sensors and decentralised relays makes installation easy and flexible. There is no need to run bundles of wires back to a central control panel, as all signals are transmitted over a simple 2-wire cable system.

Predefined functions make programming a breeze, for example a real time clock can be used to turn lights off when not required, like on the weekends. The system can easily be expanded to temperature control for heating and cooling, roller blind control, alarm system monitoring and lighting scenarios. Even the garden watering system and water storage tanks can be controlled via the field-bus, creating smarter switching of valves to save on valuable water resources.

NHP can assist in improving your power factor, saving you money and improving electrical efficiency. The lower the power factor, the higher the apparent power drawn from the distribution network for a given kW demand.

Poor power factor can be improved by installing a NHP Power Factor Correction Unit. With power factor improved to the required level, tariff reduction from the electricity supply company is likely which will significantly reduce your operating costs.

Also, as more electrical loads are added to a site, the total power demand nears the site’s capacity. This often results in costly capital expenditure of supply mains upgrade and increased main switchboard capacity. This can be avoided by improving the power factor by installing an NHP Power Factor Correction system, which in turn increases a site’s power usage efficiency.

NHP’srangeofVariableSpeedDrivesarewellsuitedtoair-conditioning(HVAC)operationsforpreciseclimate control and energy savings. Controlling the internal environment of a store is essential in making customers and staff comfortable while shopping or working. Drives can assist in the control of your air-conditioning system, be it temperature control or ventilation. They can also help provide the optimum volume of fresh air and maintain a hygienic internal environment for your store.

In particular, with pumps and fans, significant energy savings can be achieved by utilising the functionsofaVariableSpeedDrive,whilstreducingrunning costs and minimising production of greenhouse gases. Implementing drives on pumps andfans,energysavingsofupto65%havebeenachieved. Using inputs from pressure, flow or temperature sensors and a well tuned PID control loop, the motor runs at the required speed (not full speed) and this is how the savings are realised. Drives also offer an extremely low starting current so you can reduce current peaks and therefore reduce peak demand electricity service charges whilst maintaining power quality on-site.
