What is Electronic Engineering?

• It is an engineering discipline which uses the scientific knowledge of the behavior and effects of electrons to develop components, devices, systems, or equipment. For example, an electronic engineer designs cell phones, video games, and robotic equipment.

Common Work Activities, Duties, and Responsibilities.

• Responsibilities- As an electronic engineer, you have to work in a team with other specialists to create, design, fabricate, test and supervise the manufacture of different products.

• Duties- Electronic engineers create products to make our life more relaxing such as television, radio, computer, and different technological communications.

• Work Activities- Electronic engineer’s have responsibilities to find new solutions to solve practical problems affecting our daily lives.

Working Environment, Conditions, Setting, Geographic Locations.

• Electronic engineers work in offices, workshops, factories and even sometimes their own home. Most electronic engineers use many different types of equipment. Such as: computers and CAD programs, an oscilloscope which checks electronic signals and voltages, a multi-meter which measures electronic voltage, current and resistance, signal generators which generates electronics signals, and hand tools and power tools.

• Electronic engineers can work in many different places such as industrial plants, industrial automation facilities, and telecommunication facilities.

How do they differ from electrical engineers?

• How they differ from electrical engineers is that electrical engineers concentrate on the production and supply of electricity. Electronics engineers are concerned with the application of electricity to control systems or for signal processing.

• Also, Electronics engineers generally only deal with small amounts of electricity as opposed to large generators and plants that electrical engineers may work on

Is electronics engineering specialized?

• No, electronic engineering has many different options for career opportunities. For example, electronic engineers could have jobs such as cell phone designing, video game creating, and robotic designs. Also, they could be working on developing the latest television or they could be developing heart rate monitors for hospitals. Electronics engineering have many different career options.
