B I O G R A P H YDescended from “Miners and Shiners,” Shawn’s family eventually settled in Chesterfield, Virginia. The West Virginia and PBR bottle depictions contained in his logo pay tribute to his Pepaw. They never met.
If you grew up on Haggard, Hank, and Cash, don’t mind twang, and think of Nashville as your Hollywood, Shawn’s music is the right fit for your ears. It’s assured he has something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue as he marries his influences, likes, unique outlook, and sense of humor with a voice that commands attention.
Shawn draws influence from Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley, Waylon Jennings, Jamey Johnson, Johnny Cash, Randy Travis, George Jones, Brad Paisley, Josh Turner, Joe Nichols, and many more.
Shawn has written, recorded, and performed since 2002. He plays solo, duo (most frequently with pedal steel player Slim Stanton), and up to a six piece (steel, fiddle, lead, acoustic, bass, and drums). As a band, they are referred to as the “Good Ole Boys.” He has opened shows at concerts with the following headliners:
Hank Williams Jr. • ZZ Top • Jake Owen Willie Nelson • Dylan Scott • High Valley
He is scheduled to open for Jesse Keith Whitley in August of 2017.
