Joey Vaillancourt ~ “Hands-free Solo Music Master”Joey is a “one-man show” bringing his voice and guitar to the stage. He

likes to play with backup music from playlists on his computer. This project includes a custom Windows program to cue up songs from

playlists under command from the foot controller/LCD display box on the stage. Joey is employed with Breconridge in Kanata, a state of the art

electronics manufacturing company.

Pierre Yves Lanthier ~ “Remote Controlled Robotic Arm Vehicle”A rover with a robotic arm and camera mounted to the gripper. This

rover is controlled by a custom Windows program.

Troy Cluff ~ “Windows Based Home Security System”A sensors connection and scanning box which communicates back to a

custom Windows program for control and logging of events. Troy is employed in Arnprior with a company that makes custom electronics for

the mills in the Pontiac area.

Darin Drisner ~ “Computerized Electronic Tape Measure”Download all required measurements for your carpentry project from the custom Windows program to the Tape Measurement unit, then take it to

the site and use it to describe and measure the required cuts for the project. The tape measure unit is battery powered with an LCD display.

Darin is studying Electrical Engineering at Concordia University.

Louis-Philipe Bowie ~ “GPS Data Logger”A portable GPS data logger that can be installed in a racing car. It

monitors and tracks the car during a race for later analysis by uploading the logger’s GPS recorded data to a custom Windows program running

on a PC.

Jean-Daniel Larose ~ “Windows Remote Controlled Hummer Rover”

A wireless remote controlled vehicle. It is equipped with a 360 degree rotating camera that is controlled through a custom Windows program running on a PC. “JD” works at the Casino du Hull installing, upgrading

and repairing the electronic slot machines.

Michael Noel ~ “Computerized Security Door Locks on a Wireless Network”

A computerized security door lock system with electric door lock, keypad, LCD display and wireless network interface. A user needs to type in a password for the door to be opened. The Windows program was written to control a network of door locks throughout a building, which will log who entered which rooms and the times. The Windows

program also maintains a database of user passwords which are downloaded into the electronic door locks.

Daniel Paulin ~ “Windows Based Electric Guitar Effects and Stomp Box”

An electric guitar "Stomp box" to control a custom Windows effects processor program, allowing the user to modify or “effect" an electric

guitar's signal by choosing presets specified by the user on a PC. These presets could then be cycled and modified using foot switches on the

stomp box itself.

Abdolrahman Saadi ~ “Windows Controlled Wireless Electronic Message Board”

This electronic scrolling message board allows the user to compose, transmit and display text, characters and animated figures from the custom Windows control

program to the dot matrix LEDs of the display message board. Following his graduation, Saadi worked for a large electronics company in The Netherlands for two years. He is now back in Canada preparing to study Electronics Engineering

at University of Ottawa
