Elemental Marketing: Sports

Elemental Marketing is a full-service advertising agency and marketing firm specializing in long-term

strategic branding. With over 35 years combined industry experience, we’ve developed a unique

philosophy toward marketing which is relationship focused. We believe cultivating a lasting relationship

Although we’ve previously worked with organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to nonprofit

groups, we’ve begun to carve a niche for ourselves in the Louisville and surrounding markets, focusing

primarily on sports marketing. The following creative campaigns give an accurate idea of what we’re able

to do for you.

Spalding University Athletics

Spalding University hosts an annual

fundraiser benefitting their Athletic

Department, and asked us to take

this event to the next level. Each year

they host a college basketball themed

bracketology event held the day after

the pairings for the NCAA Tournament

are announced. More than generating

funds, Spalding’s primary goal was to

create the type of event that can grow

year after year and still excite their

guests without wearing out the concept.

We began by branding the event

Selection Monday. Staying true to the

college basketball theme, Selection

Monday was an ideal choice. And in an

effort to create event more awareness

for Spalding Athletics, we recommended

moving to the event to the KFC Yum!

Center and partnering with WLKY to

broadcast Selection Monday throughout

Metro Louisville. The highlight of the

evening was listening to Hall of Fame

Coach Denny Crum, Coach Joe B. Hall,

and former UofL and UK greats Darrell

Griffith and Mike Pratt give their expert

picks for the 2011 NCAA Tournament.

After months of planning, the event was a huge success. Spalding saw nearly 200% profit

growth, and the WLKY special was seen in close to 38,000 homes in the Louisville area. People

are so excited for the 2012 event that we’ve already begun planning with Spalding University.

Senior PGA

As a part of the 2011 Senior PGA Championship

at Valhalla Golf Club, current tour player Ted Schulz

and others are speaking about their lives both

on and off the course. Elemental Marketing was

brought in from the get go to guide the branding

work and design all the necessary marketing tactics.

For this, we developed a microsite for the event

as well as posters, brochures, tickets and additional

materials. Each piece maintains the brand, and as a

result the event sold out over a full month early.

Kentucky YMCA

Branding can be difficult if not implemented

correctly from the onset, and that’s what the

Kentucky YMCA has asked us to do. We’ve been

working to slowly rebrand all of their marketing

materials to comply with their Brand Standards.

Starting with their website kyymca.org and a few

pieces of collateral, we’ve not only been responsible

for rebranding, but we’ve also helped streamline

these pieces by reworking existing content.

Jason Taylor Foundation

Although technically outside of the Louisville

market, the Jason Taylor Foundation charged us with

developing a logo and collateral for their Shootout

at Smoke on the Water event in Miami. Jason

Taylor and the rest of the team was so pleased with

our work, we’ve been asked to help rework other

aspects of the existing marketing efforts.
