Elementary Teachers Engaged in Authentic Math and Science
ETEAMS is a 3- year, $1.5 million Targeted Math & Science Partnership from the National Science Foundation,
between Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi and Corpus Christi Independent
School District.
Our guiding purpose is to support an inclusive culture of STEM success by
developing STEM talent and achievement through authentic and
relevant experiences involving grades 4-8 students and teachers in
economically disadvantaged urban schools
Our vision is to develop an inclusive community of learners in which
preservice elementary teachers and underrepresented adolescents build
STEM content knowledge, have authentic STEM experiences and build
positive beliefs and favorable dispositions that are needed to support
achievement in STEM teaching and learning.
Our mission is to develop an outstanding preservice teaching fellowship program to support
elementary education majors to build their STEM awareness, content
knowledge, self-efficacy, and interest in teaching middle levels mathematics and
science.
