What’s Happening
Social Ministry The Social Ministry team is meeting on Mon., Aug. 15th, at 11:30 AM in the CTL library to begin planning for their 2016-2017 ministry. The purpose of this group is to provide aid to people in our area who are in need. This is the group that coordinates the congregational giving for the holiday food baskets, White Gifts, charity donations, and more. Your help is welcome. Consider either being part of the team or helping with one project. If you are interested, please contact Barb Bosch or come to our meeting and see what we are doing.
All God’s Children One of our “Summer of Service” programs. This time, we will be serving animals in our community. All ages invited! Saturday,
August 20, 9:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.We will be looking at animals in the Bible, making dog and cat toys
for Anderson Animal Shelter, and of course having fun! Please bring the following items, if you are able, we will give them to the shelter: pedigree dry dog and puppy food, gently used towels and blankets (no bed sheets), pillows or curtains please, and fabric scraps or old cotton clothes (not suitable to donate Goodwill) to stuff dog beds.
Congregational Child Safety Meeting A review of the Protecting Our Children document will be held on Aug. 21st after church. Everyone who works with children and youth are encouraged to attend. Jeanne Tolzmann (and her friend) will be presenting. A review of this document, plus signing the acknowledgment page, is required every year for all staff and volunteers working in such ministries as the nursery, Sunday School, Confirmation, youth activities, and more. Jeanne makes this review interesting and, in the past, the meeting has not been long.
Choir Rehearsals are beginning Wednesday, August 24th at 7:00 P.M.
Handbell Rehearsals begin Thursday, August 25th at 7:00 P.M.
