Academic Performance Contract – EL5
Student must sit out of competition the full semester immediately after becoming ineligible academically
Must complete and fulfill the requirements of the EL5 before participation at the earliest the next semester
Example: 9th graderStudent has 1.3 at end of 1st
semester (played a fall sport)
Student sits out 2nd semester; but earns a 2.0 at the end of the semester
Student retakes a course(s) failed –online/summer; overall GPA 1.9
Student may participate the 1st
semester of 10th grade year once EL5 completed
Off-Season ActivitiesPolicy 21 Off-Season Conditioning & Policy 23 Open Facility • Voluntary• Open to all bona fide students• Supervised by school personnel – no
instruction/coaching• No sport specific drills/tasks taught• Must conclude at least 2 weeks prior

Significant Changes
Bylaw 9.3.2
• 9.3.2.1 – Transfer before starting a sport• May immediately seek to join a team if
the student meets all eligibility requirements
• 9.3.2.2 – Transfer after starting a sport• Four exceptions listed in state statute
Bylaw 9.5.1
• Eight consecutive semesters of eligibility from the semester the student enters 9th
grade for the first time
Policy 4.3 Gender Identity Participation
• Moved from Policy 4 to Policy 16
• New Policy 16.8
Policy 17.1.2.1 Host Family
• Allows 2 youth exchange students of the same gender and sport to reside with the same host family
Policy 17.3.6.1 Registration
Exceptions:
• Do not have to register students with an unexpired “permanent resident” status
Policy 17.1.4.2 Attendance
• Permits an F-1 youth exchange student to participate mid-year
• Must attend class within the first 10 days of the semester
• Otherwise:• Must make up all work missed during
absence• Must attend school for each day missed
Policy 35.2.3 Homestay Host Family
• A family may host 2 homestay students of the same gender and sport
Policy 36.5.5 Penalties to Coaches
• Recruiting is considered unsportsmanlike conduct
• Violation of policy 36 or 37 shall result in a minimum of a 6 week suspension from coaching or attending interscholastic contests
