REPORT OF THE EVENT

Organum Donum society of University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi organized a

multilevel Pan- India quiz competition, "ELIXIR: A concoction of knowledge" in partnership

with DBMCI E-Gurukul on 26th and 27th of June, 2021. The aim of the event was to create

awareness among young medicos regarding organ donation and encourage them to come forward

and work towards this cause. The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Amir Maroof

Khan and Dr. Abhishek Garg.

Details: Round 1

• We received a total of 398 registrations for the quiz competition, all the participants were

added to the official WhatsApp groups of ELIXIR.

• The first round was conducted through google forms on Saturday, 26th June, 2021 from

5:00- 5:25pm and a total of 192 entries were received.

• There were 30 multiple choice questions with one correct option.

• Questions were asked from various aspects of blood, organ and tissue donation like

current affairs, history, general knowledge, medical and ethico-legal.

• All the participants were awarded certificates of participation. The top 10 participants

from round 1 were selected for the next round on the basis of both accuracy and time

taken.

• Feedback form was circulated among the participants after round 2 and positive response

was seen. We have noted the suggestions received from the students to keep in mind in

the future.

The 2nd round of the quiz was conducted at 4:00pm on Sunday, 27th June, 2021 as a live quiz

through Zoom online meeting platform. The event was inaugurated by Dr. A.K. Jain, Principal,

UCMS and GTB Hospital. The event was graced by eminent medical personalities and they

enlightened us with their inspiring and motivational words.

4:10- 4:15 pm- Inauguration by Dr. A.K. Jain, Principal UCMS.

4:15- 4:25pm- Address by Chief Guest Dr. Aruna Vanikar ma’am, President, UG wing, NMC.

4:25- 4:35 pm- Introduction of the top 10 winners from the first round of the quiz (dividing them

into teams for round 2, instructions and rules given to the participants for round 2)

4:35- 5:05 pm- Quiz part- 1.

5:05- 5:10 pm- Address by Dr. Vasanthi Ramesh, Director, NOTTO.

5:10- 5:15 pm- Address by Mrs. Anu Bhatia, Director, DBMCI E-gurukul

5:15- 5:20 pm- Announcement of TOP 5 and details for part 2 of the quiz.

Details: Round 2

• The top 10 finalists were quizzed in two levels.

• First, all the participants were divided into duels of two, i.e. 5 different groups with two

students in each group and 3 questions were asked from each duel.

• Top 5 participants were then selected, one student from each duel.

• The final level was a 3 round quiz with the top 5 participants where one by one they were

asked general questions, true-false and assertion-reason type questions.

• The first, second and third winners were announced at the end of level 2 and were

rewarded with E-Gurukul subscription of 3 months, 2 months and 1 month respectively.

In the end, we had an interactive session with the participants and asked for their valuable

feedback. We also welcomed the interested students into the Organum Donum family through

our ambassador program.

The whole event was recorded, some pictures and snippets from the event were uploaded on the

official social media handles of Organum Donum.
