Tram service changesElizabeth Street tram track renewal – Stage 1Routes 19, 24, 30, 57, 59 and City CircleSaturday 21 to Wednesday 25 April 2012

Yarra Trams is renewing tram tracks in Elizabeth Street between Victoria Street and Lonsdale Street from Saturday 21 April to Wednesday 25 April (ANZAC Day).

The following tram service changes will apply:

Route 57 will divert via Flemington Road to service the City via Peel Street and William Street to terminate at the corner of Flinders Street and Market Street.

shu le tram servicing orth Melbourne will operate between Abbotsford Street and Flemington Road, and Victoria Street near Peel Street.

Route 59 will divert at Haymarket to service the City via Peel Street and William Street to terminate at the corner of Flinders Street and Market Street.

Route 19 will terminate at a temporary stop near the corner of Queensberry and Elizabeth Streets. Customers can transfer to a bus that connects with Swanston Street services, walk to their des na on or change at Haymarket for Route 55 or the diverted Route 57 & 59 services to the City.

There will be no services on Routes 24 & 30 between Swanston Street and Docklands.

City Circle trams will not service La Trobe Street between Spencer Street and Swanston Street.

With Elizabeth Street closed due to the works and Swanston Street inaccessible to buses, the shu le bus service can only connect to Swanston Street services near Queensberry Street.

Motorists and cyclists are advised to take alterna ve routes into the City.

The major track works in Elizabeth Street are part of our commitment to modernising Melbourne’s tram network.

This is the rst stage of Elizabeth Street track renewal for 2012. The second stage (south of Lonsdale Street) will be done later in the year.

The new tracks will provide a smoother ride for customers and reduce noise associated with trams travelling over older track.
